About us:

Luno is the crypto investment app you can rely on, enabling you to buy, store and explore crypto securely. We’re committed to putting the power of cryptocurrency in everyone’s hands sensibly and responsibly.

Since 2013, we’ve helped millions of people around the world invest safely in crypto. We do this by cutting through the hype and supporting customers at every step of the way. All products and cryptocurrencies on our platform must first meet stringent legal, risk and technical security standards.

Transparency is key for us. Luno stores all crypto on a 1:1 basis and we have rigorous processes in place so you can be confident your investment is secure. We’re available in more than 40 countries around the world and we work closely with respective regulators in all of these markets to be fully compliant, as we believe this is the best way to help everyone, everywhere, invest safely.

The role in a nutshell:

Luno is evolving into the all-in-one investment platform for emerging markets, combining cryptocurrency, tokenised equities, and payments in one intuitive, trusted app.

We’re looking for a commercially minded, data-driven marketing leader to guide this next phase of growth. VP of Marketing will oversee all marketing strategy, budgeting, and performance management across regions, with a strong focus on efficiency, measurement, and disciplined execution.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on numbers, clarity, and accountability. You’ll inherit a capable, cross-functional marketing team and focus on optimising how it operates: tightening performance loops, refining spend allocation, and ensuring that every activity contributes meaningfully to business growth.

Your mission will be:

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Develop and execute Luno’s global marketing and growth strategy in line with company goals.
  • Own the global brand for Luno and execute brand strategy at a local level
  • Ensure marketing investment is efficient, data-driven, and clearly tied to performance outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Product, Country, Data, and Finance teams to align on growth priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Maintain a clear and consistent rhythm of reporting, forecasting, and KPI tracking across all regions.

Budgeting, KPIs & Performance Management

  • Own the global marketing budget: plan, allocate, and continuously monitor spend efficiency and ROI.
  • Establish and manage KPI frameworks that connect marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, retention, ARPU, ROI) to company-level results.
  • Work with Data teams to strengthen attribution, forecasting accuracy, and marketing performance dashboards.
  • Lead quarterly marketing reviews focused on efficiency, ROI, and continuous optimisation.

Growth Execution & Optimisation

  • Oversee acquisition, retention, and lifecycle performance across paid media, CRM, SEO, partnerships, and content.
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture that prioritises measurable impact over activity volume.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data visibility, and enhance decision speed.
  • Maintain high-quality standards for campaign execution, tracking, and reporting across regions.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a 27-person marketing team across central and regional functions.
  • Focus on operational clarity, accountability, and performance consistency rather than expansion.
  • Foster a culture of commercial thinking, ownership, and continuous improvement.

A little about you:

  • 10+ years’ experience in marketing, with a strong foundation in performance, growth, or commercial marketing.
  • Proven ability to manage and optimise large budgets with clear ROI accountability.
  • Experience of building a brand and driving growth globally, rather than just a single market
  • Deep expertise in digital performance measurement, multi-channel attribution, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of marketing analytics, data infrastructure, and automation platforms (e.g., Braze, Singular, MParticle, Amplitude, Looker, or similar).
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, comfortable operating at the intersection of marketing, finance, and data.
  • Experience driving efficiency and performance improvement across multiple markets or business units.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on enabling teams to perform at their best through clarity and process discipline.
