Optimum is delivering the world’s first high-performance memory infrastructure for any blockchain. Powered by Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC), Optimum scales network speed, robustness and throughput by orders of magnitude, enhancing dApp performance and end-user experience.
Co-founded by Muriel Médard, co-inventor of RLNC, and a team of industry experts, Optimum introduces a breakthrough in Web3 infrastructure. Blockchains—often called world computers—lack a critical component for infinite scalability: a real-time virtual memory.
Our memory infrastructure enables high-speed data propagation, fast access, and secure updates, scaling the world computer. Backers include 1kx, Spartan, Robot Ventures, Triton Capital (fka Kraken Ventures), Finality Capital, SNZ and others.

Role Overview: As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the hands-on technical backbone supporting Optimum’s enterprise validator partners and node operators. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, and blockchain validation—bridging between our engineering and customer-facing teams.
You’ll deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot Optimum’s core products across validator and node infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation and optimal performance. You will serve as both an internal and external technical authority—helping partners resolve complex integration challenges while providing valuable feedback to engineering to improve product stability, performance, and usability.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, customer success, and infrastructure operations, offering the opportunity to work directly on the systems that scale the world computer.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose, reproduce, and resolve complex technical issues across validator and network infrastructure
Provide timely, hands-on debugging and log analysis to identify and escalate software bugs or performance issues
Collaborate with engineering to deliver quick resolutions and deploy hotfixes or configuration updates as needed
Deployment & Integration:
Guide validator and infrastructure partners through setup, integration, and configuration of Optimum’s products (e.g., mump2p, Flexnodes)
Develop and maintain deployment scripts, monitoring dashboards, and internal tools for performance verification
Monitoring & Reliability:
Maintain real-time monitoring systems to ensure uptime, latency, and throughput goals are met
Proactively detect network anomalies, performance degradations, and misconfigurations before they impact customers
Technical Documentation & Enablement:
Contribute to internal and external documentation, including integration guides, runbooks, and troubleshooting playbooks
Help automate and standardize support workflows to improve scalability and efficiency
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to ensure high-quality support and seamless partner experience
Provide feedback from field operations to influence roadmap priorities and product improvements
3–6 years of experience in technical support engineering, site reliability, or DevOps roles within blockchain, distributed systems, or high-performance networking environments
Deep understanding of Ethereum staking, consensus mechanisms, and validator infrastructure
Strong proficiency in Linux system administration, shell scripting, and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, peer-to-peer protocols)
Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack) and cloud infrastructure (GCP)
Ability to debug and analyze performance bottlenecks at the network, protocol, and application levels
Excellent communication skills to translate complex engineering concepts into clear solutions for partners
Opportunity to work hands-on with groundbreaking network technology redefining blockchain scalability
Competitive compensation package, including token incentives
Remote-first work environment with flexible hours
Collaborative team culture that values technical excellence and innovation
Resources to attend top blockchain conferences and industry events
Our core team is based across the U.S. and Europe, and we welcome applicants from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions.
