Technical Accounting Manager

The Accounting & Finance team at Chainalysis splits their time between fine-tuning the details and evaluating the 30,000 foot view of our business. Our job is to help the company plan for growth by investing in the right resources and audit our expenditures and revenues to ensure we’re being fiscally responsible.

As a Manager of Technical Accounting, you will lead the company’s interpretation and application of U.S. GAAP, with a focus on complex and judgmental accounting areas. You’ll play a key role in building scalable accounting policies and ensuring our financial statements are audit-ready and compliant as we continue to grow — and potentially prepare for future capital events (e.g., M&A or IPO)

In this role, you will…

• Research, evaluate, and document technical accounting positions under U.S. GAAP.

• Draft and maintain accounting position memos, white papers, and internal policy documentation.

• Own and update the Company’s accounting policies and ensure consistent application.

• Provide technical guidance and training to the broader accounting and finance team.

• Partner with external auditors, ensuring readiness and support during annual audits.

• Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting standards (e.g., ASUs) on the business.

• Partner with Legal, FP&A, HR, and other stakeholders to evaluate accounting implications of strategic initiatives.

We’re looking for candidates who have…

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting including topics such as ASC 606, ASC 805, ASC 718

• Experience working with private or high-growth technology companies

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• NetSuite experience and a strong command of Excel (you’re unfazed by large data sets)

Nice to have experience:

• Experience in a SaaS environment with a Big 4 Accounting Firm and/or experience at a pre-IPO SaaS company

• CPA

Compensation Range: $105K – $200K
