Cboe is hiring for an SVP, Chief Compliance Officer.

The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive compliance program for Cboe. This role ensures organizational adherence to applicable securities laws, regulations, and industry standards while promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct. The CCO develops and oversees compliance policies, procedures, and controls. This position requires extensive knowledge of financial regulations (including SEC, CFTC, FINRA, OSC, and other regulatory bodies globally), strong leadership abilities, and the capacity to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business solutions. The CCO serves as a key member of the executive team, contributing to organizational strategy while safeguarding the company’s reputation and operational integrity through effective compliance oversight.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Provide strategic leadership, direct management and oversight of the Company’s Compliance function
  • Identify opportunities, establish action plans, and drive solutions to continuously improve the compliance program
  • Promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with applicable rules and regulations, policies, procedures, corporate standards, and obligations.
  • Lead the development of, and oversee, written policies and procedures designed to assist with compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing compliance team, developing talent, providing coaching, and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Lead the developing, updating, and/or otherwise maintaining of enterprise-wide training initiatives and other communications designed to educate associates regarding applicable policies, procedures, corporate standards, and obligations to foster a culture of compliance
  • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments from SEC, CFTC, FINRA, OSC and other regulatory bodies globally to assess impact on company operations
  • Recommend changes to processes, procedures and policies as regulations, laws, and business functions evolve
  • Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory changes and lead project management efforts for implementing new compliance requirements
  • Coordinate responses to regulatory requests, audits, and examinations related to company operations
  • Provide strategic compliance guidance to executive leadership and serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across all business functions

The ideal candidate has:

  • Proven leadership skills and experience developing collaborative teams
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial services regulations, securities laws, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience creating training programs to promote company-wide awareness of policies, procedures, standards, and obligations.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to express complex subject matter in an accurate, clear, and straightforward manner.
  • Strong grasp of risk management principles and their application to the Company
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance
  • Advanced understanding of compliance technology solutions and data management practices
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey compliance concepts to diverse audiences
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior leadership compliance role
  • Ability to work independently and to work cooperatively in group situations; offer assistance and support to co-workers; balance team and individual responsibilities; exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views; give and welcome feedback.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments; strong time management experience and skills; and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and quality, to adjust to changes in priorities and situations, and to meet deadlines.

Education/License(s):

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced or law degree preferred

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $297,500-$367,500 per year. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay target for new hires working in the position full time.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by actual work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, our total rewards program includes an annual variable pay program and benefits including healthcare (medical, dental and vision), 401 (k) with a generous company match, life and disability insurance, paid time off, market-leading tuition assistance, and much more!
