Ripple is seeking a highly experienced Staff Technical Writer to join our documentation team, focusing on advanced payments products. You will be essential in shaping the customer integration journey through documentation.
If the following excites you, this role is a perfect fit:
- Acting as the “first user”—diving deep into the product to test APIs and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Driving successful customer adoption through clear, comprehensive integration guides.
- Working entirely in a “docs-as-code” environment, managing documentation as code alongside engineering.
The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and has a proven track record of documenting complex APIs and UIs.
Key Responsibilities
- API and UI Documentation: Author and maintain detailed reference and conceptual documentation for our payments platform, covering REST, gRPC, and FIX protocols, as well as web/application UIs.
- Docs-as-Code & Tooling: Maintain documentation using a docs-as-code workflow and Git for version control. Employ platforms like Redocly for API specification and documentation generation (OpenAPI/Swagger).
- Scalability: Manage, optimize, and build out documentation tooling and automation to efficiently support our expanding product suite.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Partner Engineers to gather technical information and set documentation standards.
What You’ll Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years as a Technical Writer, documenting complex enterprise fintech or payments software.
- Technical Expertise: Deep experience documenting both API-level reference materials (including REST, gRPC, FIX, etc) and User Interface (UI) guides.
- Core Skills: Proficiency with a docs-as-code workflow, Git, and Redocly, and OpenAPI Specification tools.
- Payments/FinTech Knowledge: Experience with cross-border payments, banking technology, or cryptocurrency/blockchain concepts is a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in programming or development (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a huge plus, enabling you to write and troubleshoot code examples and maintain tooling.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality results efficiently in a timeline-driven environment.
