The inspiration for Wifi Dabba came from the founders working together for the last decade in the mobile application industry and realising the biggest reason for user churn being access to cheap and affordable internet access. From having worked on ground onboarding users and facing poor connectivity issues all the time, we took it on ourselves to fix the internet access problem for the common citizen.
At Wifi Dabba (YC W17), we are building a low cost, scalable & distributed Wi-Fi infrastructure to connect next billion users online. We do this by deploying a grid of lasers (Free Space Optics) over the cities & town and bring cheap and fast internet for everyone. We enable anyone to buy 1 gig of data access at a time at a price they can afford. Sachetization of internet access is the foundation to rebuilding internet for all. We do this by leveraging crypto and blockchain to truly make internet infrastructure ownership distributed — our vision is to be connectivity layer for the Web3 world.

Requirements
Experience in telecom infrastructure rollout for Bangalore markets
Experience in LCO/ISP/TSP relations & management
Experience in leading a motivated team of Field Engineers
Experience in managing RoW & government relations
Experience in working with passive infra providers
Core understanding & execution capabilities of NOC, DC & CDNs
Be a technical expert on integrating Wi-Fi network solutions, DabbaOS software and WifiDabba’s core features with ISPs’ infrastructure
Deep hands-on experience of Linux/UNIX systems, Internet protocol stack, system administration, deployment automation.
Manage the technical relationship with the ISP partners, provide technical support and handle service outages
Good understanding on core networking (Layers 1-3)
Sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills: you can fix anything
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in communicating with technical and business audiences.

Interview process
Three rounds
Round 1: 45 mins video call with one of our engineering team member to discuss the opportunity & figure out mutual interest & compatibility.
Round 2: In person interview in our Bangalore office. 3-4 hours. We would expect you work on a small problem statement to help us analysis your networking, analytical & logical skills and approach. We could also ask you to run us through some of your recent project that you are proud of executing.
Round 3: 30-60 min call/in person with founder(s) to jointly define your career roadmap at Wifi Dabba.
