Hi, I’m Darcy! I joined Ashby just over a year ago to establish our events function. I started my career in interior design before moving into event and field marketing, and have spent nearly 10 years producing high-impact events and campaigns across a range of companies. At Ashby, I’ve led everything from full-scale user conferences like Ashby One to activations at industry conferences like Transform and RecFest to small, intimate dinners. And now – as we prepare to scale our events programs and operations in Europe in 2026 – we’re expanding the team to make it our most exceptional year yet!
At Ashby, we believe events are more than just gatherings – they’re powerful moments to connect, inspire, and build community. Every detail, from the first invite to the last goodbye, is a reflection of our brand and our commitment to creating thoughtful, human-centered experiences.
We’re looking for a Senior Event Marketing Manager who knows how to create experiences people feel – someone who can balance creative vision with flawless execution and turn every detail into a reflection of the Ashby brand.
You’ll own the operational execution of Ashby’s presence at industry conferences in EMEA – from major industry gatherings like Unleash and RecFest to niche, high-impact programs across the recruiting landscape. Your role is to bring our event presence to life through thoughtful, high-quality activations that elevate our brand and create meaningful connections with talent leaders. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, managing logistics and budgets end-to-end and serving as a reliable on-site presence to ensure every detail runs seamlessly.
You’ll also bring the same level of creativity and precision to planning bespoke events in EMEA – intimate, one-of-a-kind experiences designed to deepen relationships with customers and prospects. Along the way, you’ll build strong partnerships with venues, vendors, and agencies and craft internal playbooks that help us scale globally.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of organization, efficiency, and elevated design sensibility – a dependable operator and thoughtful host who excels at managing logistics, keeping teams aligned, and executing with exceptional judgment, meticulous planning, and a refined eye for detail to ensure every element feels intentional.
You’ll be responsible for:
Event Operations at Industry Conferences
Planning and executing all event logistics for Ashby’s participation in conferences in EMEA, including booth builds, swag, shipping, travel arrangements, staff management, room blocks, and on-site execution.
Coordinating cross-functionally with Marketing, Partnerships, Sales, and Design to ensure brand consistency, messaging alignment, and seamless attendee experiences.
Owning vendor relationships, including event organizers, production partners, booth fabricators, shipping/logistics providers, and swag suppliers.
Managing budgets end-to-end, from forecasting and vendor negotiations to reconciling invoices and tracking spend.
Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including event briefs, timelines, run-of-shows, staffing and travel plans, and post-event debriefs.
Serving as the on-site conference lead, managing setup, run-of-show, and teardown, while ensuring a polished and professional presence.
Tracking performance metrics such as booth traffic, engagement, and ROI to inform future event sponsorship decisions. Partner with our RevOps team to ensure we have the right infrastructure in place to track leads generated from events.
Bespoke Events
Plan and execute highly curated, one-of-a-kind events in EMEA designed to deepen relationships with customers and prospects and reflect Ashby’s brand values. Examples include summits, hospitality activations, roundtables, courses, and creative brand moments tailored to specific audiences.
Foster meaningful relationships with customers and prospects to establish a strong, globally connected network that supports future growth and collaboration.
Design and document playbooks that allow Ashby to scale activations efficiently and maintain brand excellence in every market.
Know our audience inside and out, craft experiences that spark learning and genuine connection, and make sure every event ladders back to real business impact.
You’re equal parts creative and organized – you can dream big and build and execute on the detailed plan that makes it happen.
You are a strong project manager who keeps programs on track and anticipates issues before they arise.
You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution and attention to detail.
You bring a relationship-driven approach to your work – whether it’s with vendors, teammates, or customers, you know collaboration is key to great work.
You’re business-minded and confident negotiating contracts. You’ll be responsible for evaluating vendors and venues, managing budgets, and ensuring a positive return on investment.
You see events not just as experiences, but as powerful drivers of brand love and business growth.
You have both planned high-touch owned events and activated at large industry conferences
You don’t want to travel. While we share travel responsibilities across the team, this role will require travel roughly monthly.
You’re looking to only do the “fun” work. This role covers everything from event strategy to booking restaurants, managing vendors, and ensuring name badges are printed correctly.
You struggle with organization, managing multiple priorities, attention to detail, or meeting deadlines.
You don’t have a confident point of view on what great looks and feels like – you’re not someone who obsesses over design, detail, and unique experiences.
At Ashby, we design our interview process to help you show your best self. Here’s what to expect:
A 30-minute intro call with Anna – An introductory chat to learn more about the role and share a bit about your experience and how you’d want to approach this role.
A 45-minute interview with the Hiring Manager (Darcy) – We’ll dive into past projects and discuss your approach to events.
A 30-minute interview with the VP Marketing (Harriet) – She’ll want to understand how you work, your approach to building and designing events, and your alignment with our Operating Principles.
A take-home assignment, which you’ll have 30 mins to discuss with the hiring team.
A final round with a panel of interviewers.
Competitive salary and equity.
Opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team.
10-year exercise window for stock options. You shouldn’t feel pressure to purchase stock options if you leave Ashby —do it when you feel financially comfortable.
Unlimited PTO. Expect “Vacation?” in our one-on-one agenda until you start taking it 😅.
Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US. We plan to expand this to employees in other countries as situations arise.
Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget. Get what you need to be happy and productive!
$100/month education budget with more expensive items (like conferences) covered with manager approval.
Ashby provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.
