Position Summary:

The legal division of Cboe Global Markets, Inc. (“Cboe” or the “Company”) is hiring a Senior Counsel – APAC. The position will work primarily from Cboe’s office in Hong Kong or Singapore, but may have flexibility to work from home from time to time in accordance with Cboe’s work-from-home policies and procedures.

As detailed below, the Senior Counsel – APAC will be an experienced legal generalist and will have responsibility for corporate, regulatory, contracting and other legal matters for the Company’s expanding presence and activities in the APAC region broadly. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a motivated candidate to manage important corporate legal tasks for a leading global financial services company.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Conduct legal research and analysis relating to the Company’s entry into new geographic markets and / or new activities in existing geographic markets, including research and analysis on relevant financial, securities, commodities, corporate and other rules and regulations; Keep up-to-date with changes in laws in jurisdictions of interest, including research on how relevant laws could impact Cboe’s business interests.

Provide legal support for a wide variety of corporate legal and governance processes for the Company’s APAC subsidiaries, including planning and providing support for board meetings and approvals, coordinating periodic filings with corporate authorities, executing corporate formations and dissolutions and related tasks.

Review, draft and negotiate contracts and agreements for a wide variety of business activities and relationships relevant to the Company’s APAC presence.

Understand regulatory requirements and legislative developments impacting Cboe’s offices and licenses in various APAC jurisdictions.

Liaise with legal and business colleagues from around the world to coordinate efforts on the matters above and other legal projects, facilitating the Cboe legal division’s global outlook and approach.

Coordinate with law firms and other external service providers regarding the matters above.

Provide other legal support and advice as requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Willingness to be flexible and work with uncertain and new situations and think outside the box
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Capable of working with a diverse team in multiple jurisdictions to navigate complex international regulatory issues
  • Willingness to connect with US/EU colleagues at morning and night hours on a regular basis
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and a diverse set of responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ year(s) of experience working as an attorney at a corporation or law firm
  • Law degree from a common law jurisdiction
  • Experience supporting multinational corporations in multiple jurisdictions preferred
  • Experience working with regulated financial services organization preferred
