Engineering
Compute is a commodity. We think people should buy it like one.
Startups shouldn’t be forced to buy a year’s worth of compute time in order to get market rate and compute providers shouldn’t go bankrupt because they can’t fully book their clusters.
At SF Compute, our goal is to solve this issue the same way this was solved for every other commodity — by building a venue where compute contracts are traded in real-time and by bringing a new kind of participant into the supply chain, traders.
If we succeed, buyers will be able to get a good price for any order, whether it’s 32 H100s for a month or 8,000 H100s for an hour, and sellers will instantly book out their clusters because traders will speculatively buy them, for a spread. Every FLOP will flow through us somewhere in the supply chain. What Brent is for oil, we will be for compute.
As a Solutions Architect at SFC, you’ll work at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success — helping users design, deploy, and scale compute solutions on our marketplace. You’ll collaborate with providers to optimize infrastructure performance and guide customers through technical integrations that turn their workloads into successful, repeatable deployments.
You’ll translate customer requirements into technical architectures, build prototypes, and partner with engineering to shape features that make compute orchestration simpler and more reliable. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diving deep into systems, explaining complexity clearly, and connecting the dots between user needs and technical capabilities.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement compute architectures tailored to customer workloads.
Advise on scaling, performance tuning, and cost optimization across providers.
Collaborate with engineering to refine APIs, deployment tooling, and documentation.
Support customers during onboarding and troubleshooting, translating issues into product improvements.
Create reference implementations and internal playbooks for repeatable deployment patterns.
Contribute to internal architecture reviews and roadmap planning.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or solution architecture.
Deep understanding of compute, networking, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
Familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and emerging compute networks.
Strong communication and diagramming skills — can explain complex systems simply.
Comfort working directly with customers and internal stakeholders.
A mix of curiosity, pragmatism, and creativity — someone who loves solving real problems at scale.
Nice to Have
Experience with GPU workloads, distributed systems, or marketplace architectures.
Background in developer relations or technical writing.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi).
Interest in the future of decentralized or high-performance compute.
