The Cisco AI Software & Platform Group builds foundational AI platforms – including AI Canvas and Cisco Cloud Control – that enable teams across Cisco to develop and deploy AI-powered capabilities. We’re creating the infrastructure that powers the next generation of intelligent Cisco products.
We’re a small team focused on driving adoption of these platforms across Cisco’s business units. You’ll be part of a focused group that includes product management leadership and adoption engineering, working together to ensure internal teams successfully integrate with and deploy on our platforms.
This is an adoption engineer role – not traditional product engineering. Your focus is driving platform adoption through hands-on technical enablement with internal development teams. Your success is measured by teams reaching production, not features shipped. Critically, you’ll enable adoption for both human developers and AI coding agents – building integrations, MCP servers, and tooling that make our platforms accessible to the AI-assisted development workflows that are becoming the norm. You will:
Embed with pilot teams during onboarding, providing hands-on technical support for both traditional and AI-assisted development workflows
Write POC code, integration scripts, and glue code to accelerate team adoption – often using AI coding tools yourself to move faster
Build and maintain golden paths that work for both human developers and AI agents – automated, opinionated workflows that make the ‘right way’ the easiest way
Develop MCP servers and AI agent integrations that expose platform capabilities to tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex
Create reusable templates, SDKs, and starter kits optimized for both human comprehension and AI agent consumption
Debug and resolve integration issues in real-time to minimize blockers and keep teams moving
Create technical documentation with well-structured schemas and examples that serve both human readers and AI coding assistants
Deliver technical training sessions and workshops covering both traditional development and AI-assisted coding patterns
Channel developer feedback to platform engineering teams, advocating for improvements that address real pain points
Track and report adoption metrics for both human and AI-assisted workflows, demonstrating platform impact
5+ years of software engineering experience
Proficiency in Python or Node.js
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Experience in solutions engineering, developer relations, or technical consulting
Background with AI/ML platforms, model deployment, or agentic AI systems
Hands-on experience with AI agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Codex) as a daily part of your development workflow
Experience building MCP servers or similar AI agent integrations
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Experience building SDKs, CLIs, or developer tools
Strong API design and integration skills (REST, GraphQL, MCP)
Track record of driving tool or platform adoption through hands-on enablement
Experience in large enterprises with siloed organizational structure
