The Opportunity
As a Software Engineer at Nascent, you’ll translate domain problems into production-grade front-office software that enables the business to move quickly across global markets. You’ll partner with quantitative researchers, traders, and other engineers to design, implement, and support systems that make new opportunities actionable: from feature work and integrations to scaling core infrastructure. You’ll actively contribute to architecture and design discussions, drive projects end-to-end, and improve the reliability, test coverage, and observability of systems already in production.
You will thrive here if you take ownership and get energized by both building and refining systems: you identify problems, propose pragmatic solutions, and follow them through to production. You like working in small, cross-functional squads and enjoy clear, constructive communication, whether that’s pairing on a design, reviewing code, or writing crisp runbooks. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, can deep-dive into unfamiliar tech or data, and prefer building guardrails (tests, automation, observability) over adding ceremony. Above all, you care about craftsmanship and continuous improvement: practice, iterate, share what you learn, and help raise the bar for the whole team.
