Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (DevEx)

About The Role

There are almost 30 million developers in the world but only about 30 thousand actively working in Web3. The Developer Experience (DX) team plays a critical role in Alchemy’s mission to bring blockchain to a billion people by building tools for developers, including web apps, command line tools, and SDKs to lower the barrier to entry and inspire the next generation of software.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the DX team, you’ll work on developer-facing projects but also collaborate with almost every other team at Alchemy, from product teams like Chain Services and Wallet Services to Sales and Marketing and even external developers through our Open Source projects. There are opportunities to play with a huge range of both modern technologies like web apps, APIs, databases, SDKs, and command line tools, but also Web3 technologies like wallets, faucets, and bridges.

What You’ll Do:

• Take the time to deeply understand the role of today’s Web3 developers and build the tools they need to succeed
• Brainstorm ways to help developers new to blockchain successfully build and launch their first Web3 application
• Work with back-end engineers to define, design, and code end-to-end user-facing features for our dashboard, documentation, and website
• Develop and maintain UI component libraries to aid rapid prototyping and facilitate other product teams to adopt front-end best practices and UX patterns
• Champion best practices around code quality, type safety, and API design keeping developer ergonomics in mind
• Dig in and debug pesky bugs across multiple services
• Evangelize for developer experience to other product teams and help them build beautiful, intuitive experiences
• Contribute to team roadmap planning and open-source ecosystem projects

• You treat new challenges and unfamiliar technologies as a opportunity to learn
• You play well with others, energize your co-workers, and love collaborating with non-engineering teams like product, sales, and marketing
• You have 5+ years of relevant industry experience, especially in scrappy startups as a founder or early hire
• You have a BS/BA degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• You’re proficient with JavaScript/TypeScript, especially in the front-end (React), and have expert command of CSS (Tailwind is a bonus)

Alchemy is committed to offering competitive compensation, including base salary as well as equity. Additionally, Alchemy offers comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as other benefits such as 401k and unlimited flexible time off.

The base salary range for this position is estimated to be between $210,000 – $220,000 annually, performance based bonus, and equity. Please note this range reflects base salary only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Your salary will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business needs.
