About The Opportunity:
Tools for Humanity is looking for a creative Senior Product Development Engineer supporting research and development of concept devices. Our goal is to design innovative, reliable and manufacturable mechanical concepts to drive device roadmap and reduce risk of production projects.
Core Responsibilities:
Design components and systems supporting next generation concept devices.
Architect and design device concepts to rapidly de-risk future programs.
Design functional prototypes of advanced biometric sensing systems
Collaborate with Industrial design, Electrical engineering and Product teams.
Produce top-down design architectures and evaluate theoretical designs
Produce detailed part design and product documentation
Build prototypes and methodically conduct experiments and analyze data.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on concept integration into products with a focus on cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
Material selection and estimation of manufacturing costs
Mentor junior engineers in development best practices
About You:
Proven working experience in mechanical engineering
Demonstrated knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods.
7+ years of experience, consumer/handheld product development.
7+ years of experience in product validation (Drop, Cycle Testing, Environmental Testing).
Creativity and analytical skills.
Experience with mechanism design and prototyping; precision mechanical assembly.
Experience leading projects.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (mechanical engineering or mechatronics).
Hands-on experience in developing and integrating camera-based hardware systems.
Experience with rapid prototyping processes (3D printing, CNC-machining, laser cutting).
Knowledge of Tolerance Analysis.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
Proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
Previous experience with fast-moving startups.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at TFH ranges from $190,000 – $230,000, plus a competitive long term incentive package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
