Key Responsibilities:
Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Go and frontend applications in TypeScript to power Bolt’s checkout and merchant dashboard experiences.
Merchant Dashboard Ownership: Drive the development of the Connect-specific merchant dashboard while also evaluating and enhancing the overall merchant dashboard experience across Bolt.
Checkout Experience: Collaborate closely with design, product, and data teams to build intuitive, performant checkout flows that optimize merchant and shopper conversion.
Scalability & Performance: Optimize PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch databases for high availability and responsiveness across merchant-facing applications.
Technical Leadership: Lead technical initiatives and incident investigations, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor junior engineers.
Merchant Collaboration: Partner directly with merchants to understand dashboard and checkout needs, troubleshoot integration issues, and propose scalable product solutions.
Security & Compliance: Ensure dashboard features and checkout systems maintain compliance with PCI, data privacy, and fraud-prevention standards.
API Development: Build and maintain REST APIs and webhooks to integrate merchant tools, analytics, and commerce platforms (Magento 2, BigCommerce, Salesforce Demandware, etc.).
Observability: Use Datadog for logging, monitoring, and tracing to ensure reliability, alert quality, and system transparency.
Automation & Pattern Recognition: Identify inefficiencies, automate workflows, and create proactive monitoring tools to improve developer and merchant experience.
Please note, this is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the option to convert to full-time after 3–6 months.
Must Have Requirements:
6+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or similar cloud infrastructure provider
Strong experience with both frontend (TypeScript, React) and backend (GoLang, Python, or Java) development
Deep understanding of web application architecture and system design for scalability
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Ginkgo
Knowledge of databases such as Postgres, DynamoDB, and BigQuery
Comfort with infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar tools)
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
Experience integrating with commerce platforms like Magento 2, BigCommerce, or SFCC Demandware
Background in building or maintaining dashboards or analytics tools
Experience with developer experience tooling such as Scalar or Redoc
Understanding of compliance, privacy, and security best practices in fintech
