What you’ll be doing

Your work will directly shape the way thousands of users experience JOIN. Here’s what that looks like:

• Collaborate with Backend Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps/Platform teams to deliver meaningful, high-quality features through our Agile SDLC/Kanban workflow.
• Conduct peer code reviews and participate in retrospectives to identify improvements and drive collective growth.
• Help define requirements, propose solutions, and contribute to achieving team goals effectively.
• Take part in technical discussions on testing culture, architectural decisions, automation, and coding standards.
• Go beyond coding – think holistically about product value and customer experience, continuously looking for ways to improve it.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll join JOIN’s Frontend Guild, a passionate group dedicated to providing our customers and their candidates with smooth UX, beautiful and accessible UI, and powerful functionality.

We collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to ensure our interfaces are intuitive, secure, and consistent. The guild maintains a robust, Figma-synced Design System, code generators, and coding conventions to streamline development and maximise focus on business value.

Stability and performance are at the heart of what we do — we write end-to-end tests for all scenarios, optimise performance continuously, and ensure every user interaction feels effortless.

What we’re looking for

We don’t believe in checklists – but if most of these apply to you, we’d love to chat:

✔ 4+ years of experience as a Frontend Engineer working with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).
✔ Strong understanding of TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
✔ Solid experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, or similar).
✔ Knowledge of API integration patterns and data fetching (REST, GraphQL).
✔ Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress.
✔ Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git.
✔ Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional Agile teams.
✔ Strong focus on performance, accessibility, and usability.

Bonus points for:

• Experience contributing to or maintaining a Design System.
• Familiarity with Figma and UI collaboration workflows.
• Exposure to backend concepts or full-stack environments.
• Experience with analytics or experimentation tools (e.g. Statsig, A/B testing).
