The Role
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency infrastructure supporting high-frequency trading, market-making, and real-time risk systems across TradFi and Web3 venues.
This role sits directly between trading, quant, and systems engineering, with ownership over reliability, performance, and observability of latency-sensitive trading systems. You will work on bare-metal, cloud, and hybrid environments where milliseconds and microseconds matter.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain reliable, low-latency infrastructure for trading and market-making systems
- Support production systems for order execution, market data, hedging, and risk management
- Help ensure systems remain stable and available during trading hours through sensible redundancy and failover
- Work on system and network performance tuning (e.g. kernel settings, NUMA, IRQ affinity, TCP/UDP tuning) as needed
- Participate in performance and latency investigations across the trading stack
- Help profile and understand system behaviour, including:
- Order and market data latency
- Risk and inventory updates
- CPU, memory, disk, and network usage
- Occasionally visit data centers to support low-latency setups, hardware checks, and basic latency measurements
- Manage containerized and non-containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, bare-metal)
- Automate infrastructure and operations using Infrastructure as Code tools
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
- Comfort working with Linux systems, networking, and performance troubleshooting
- Experience diagnosing CPU, memory, storage, and I/O issues in production systems
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (or similar tools)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or similar)
- Experience working with a mix of bare-metal, on-premise, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki
- Interest in crypto, trading systems, or decentralized finance (deep expertise not required)
- A thoughtful problem-solver who enjoys learning and improving systems over time
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving, small team
