Day to Day

The Legal Team is devoted to leading projects that guide Indeed’s global infrastructure growth. We collaborate closely with many departments to review legal issues and develop solutions that equip internal teams with the tools they need to succeed, while mitigating risk and exposure to the company. As a Senior Corporate Counsel for Product & Commercialization, you will play a critical role in supporting the rollout of Indeed’s newest Job Seeker Verifications products and commercial strategy. You will have a deep understanding of the Fair Credit Report Act (FCRA) and other similar consumer reporting laws, and how such laws apply in the employment context. You are comfortable advising directly on product development, drafting corresponding legal terms of service, and engaging directly with Sales and customer-facing teams. You will help translate legal requirements into clear guidance that supports both product innovation and commercial execution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice and practical solutions to business partners on a wide range of legal issues relating to consumer reporting, license verification, adverse action rules, and dispute resolution under the FCRA and similar laws.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Commercial teams to support customer conversations, contract negotiations, and enablement materials related to Job Seeker Verification products.
  • Review and help shape customer-facing materials, product documentation, disclosures, and workflows to ensure compliance while supporting clear, effective sales messaging.
  • Stay current on FCRA and similar regulatory developments, regulatory guidance, enforcement trends, and related state and federal consumer protection laws, and proactively advise on business impact.
  • Support responses to customer, regulator, or partner inquiries related to FCRA compliance, audits, or investigations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal policies, training, and playbooks related to FCRA and product compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, internal and external to Legal, including Product, Marketing, Procurement, Engineering, Security, and HR, to ensure compliance with privacy requirements.
  • Represent Indeed in interactions with regulators and industry partners on consumer reporting-related topics and manage responses to regulatory inquiries and investigations.

Skills/Competencies

  • J.D. degree
  • 8+ years practicing law
  • 5+ years in a role involving compliance with consumer reporting laws and regulations
  • Deep knowledge of the FCRA and similar laws and how they apply in the employment context
  • Proven analytical and communication skills.
  • Understanding of web-based technologies and how regulations apply to them.
  • Keen interest in innovation and a business-forward thinker.

Salary Range Transparency

US Remote 159,000 – 238,000 USD per year
Austin 159,000 – 238,000 USD per year
Scottsdale 155,000 – 233,000 USD per year

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed’s total compensation package for employees.
