Risk Analyst

We are looking for a Risk Analyst to join the BitGo Prime team in supporting our efforts to expand brokerage service offerings to our institutional client base consisting of hedge funds, exchanges and crypto enterprises. In this role, you’ll oversee risk reporting and analytics for our trading, lending, and derivatives activities.

As the first Risk Analyst, you’ll collaborate with engineers and manage sophisticated crypto systems that are currently allowing us to manage more than $100bn+ of clients assets on the platform. The Risk Manager has overall responsibility for engaging across the Company’s business and support functions to monitor risks, including building risk dashboards to report, identify risks, and work with senior management on key risk initiatives. The role requires a blend of quantitative, analytical, and interpersonal skills, as well as a knowledge of financial markets, trading, and risk associated with such services.

Responsibilities:

• Helping implement, maintain the risk policy and ensure all financial activity is conducted within the approved risk limits.
• Work closely with the engineering and data science team to ensure risk related analytics workflows are maintained and built using best practices.
• Oversee risk reporting needs (weekly and monthly) across trading, lending and derivatives desk.
• Work with engineers to build risk analytics workflows, dashboards, and tools, leveraging the in-house best practices.
• Monitor risk systems on a daily basis. Report/Escalate issues to the Risk Director
• Monitoring collateral levels for crypto tokens and tracking the loan exposures that are at risk.
• Continuously monitor client accounts, assess risk exposures using stress testing and scenario analyses, and provide timely reporting of market, credit, and operational risks.
• Generate risk summaries at multiple levels (client, portfolio, regional, and global) for thorough oversight.

Required:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in a risk management position.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale risk in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep understanding of market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks related to traded products and collateralized lending.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly in both written and verbal forms.
• Experience with risk management tools and methodologies (such as VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis) and proficiency in Excel, SQL, and risk modeling.
• Typically requires several years of experience in risk management, trading, or financial analysis.
