About the Job

Blackbird is looking for a Product Manager, Consumer Growth & Engagement to own the end-to-end user experience across our mobile and web experiences. This role will be responsible for making Blackbird magical for diners—from discovery to check-in to loyalty experiences—and ensuring our consumer experience drives daily engagement and business outcomes.

You’ll be our point person on all things consumer, working closely with design, engineering, data, and marketing to ship intuitive, high-impact products quickly. We’re looking for someone who blends product sense and design intuition with grit, creativity, and a strong sense of ownership. You should love to solve problems, move fast, and sweat the details. You’ll obsess over our users and build experiences they can’t help but come back to.

The ideal candidate has worked in high-performing product teams (startup and/or mid-stage companies), thrives in ambiguity, and knows how to balance user delight with business performance. You’re willing to grind, push boundaries, and ask for forgiveness—not permission—when it means making progress.

Responsibilities

  • Own the consumer product experience end-to-end, from discovery through check-in and loyalty experiences
  • Drive the roadmap for mobile and web consumer experiences with a focus on growing key metrics
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to rapidly prototype, ship, and iterate on features
  • Develop a deep understanding of our users through data, research, and direct engagement
  • Define and track success metrics to evaluate product impact and inform decisions
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve guest experience, drive usage, and increase retention
  • Ruthlessly prioritize—focus on what moves the needle, cut what doesn’t
  • Be a hands-on builder, unblock teams, and jump at problems before they escalate

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of product management experience, ideally with at least one role in a consumer startup
  • Demonstrated ability to ship 0→1 and 1→n consumer products with measurable impact
  • Strong product and design intuition—can quickly assess good vs. bad UX
  • Highly analytical and data-driven; comfortable with dashboards, funnels, and hypotheses
  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; startup experience a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High agency, bias toward action, and willingness to get in the weeds

Nice to Haves

  • Background in mobile-first product development (iOS/Android)
  • Experience working on consumer loyalty, payments, or marketplace products
  • Familiarity with Figma or design systems
  • Comfort with SQL or lightweight data analysis
  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant tech
