About the Role
Unto Labs is hiring a Product Engineer, Developer Tooling to create the wallets, SDKs, RPCs, and CLIs that thousands of developers will rely on every day. You will own the full developer experience for our new Layer 1, shaping how teams build crypto applications in React, mobile, and beyond. If you love turning deep technical challenges into elegant products that delight engineers, this role is for you.
Design and build client SDKs for web, React, React Native, iOS, and Android that wrap our blockchain APIs and smart-contract primitives
Develop and maintain reference wallets and authentication flows showcasing best practices for security and UX
Own developer tooling including RPC endpoints, CLI utilities, and code-gen pipelines that streamline contract deployment and testing
Collaborate deeply with core protocol engineers to expose new consensus and cryptography features through stable, ergonomic APIs
Gather feedback from ecosystem teams, hackathons, and open-source contributors; iterate quickly on docs, examples, and DX improvements
Instrument and analyze usage metrics to guide roadmap priorities and measure the impact of new tooling releases
Champion quality with strong automated testing, CI, and release processes that keep SDKs dependable at scale
Must-Haves
4+ years engineering experience delivering production software used by external developers
Strong JavaScript / TypeScript skills with deep knowledge of React and React Native
Proficiency in at least one mobile language or framework (Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, etc.)
Familiarity with blockchain concepts, wallets, key management, and JSON-RPC
Experience shipping and versioning public SDKs or libraries with excellent documentation
Comfortable working close to the command line, building CLIs, and crafting intuitive DX flows
Clear written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex topics to varied audiences
Bias for action and ownership in fast-moving startup environments
Nice-to-Haves
Rust, Go, or C systems programming exposure
Prior work on hardware wallets, MPC, or advanced cryptography
Contributions to open-source developer tools or frameworks
Background in performance optimization or distributed systems
