You’ll help design the future of compliance in crypto by partnering with cross-functional teams to embed controls that enable responsible innovation.

The opportunity

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Legal, and Engineering to design and implement controls that meet both local regulatory requirements and Kraken’s internal standards

  • Evaluate new market entry opportunities by analyzing licensing and compliance obligations in emerging jurisdictions, coordinating with regional compliance leads to operationalize requirements

  • Design and test control frameworks that align with key U.S. and global regulatory expectations

  • Monitor and interpret emerging regulations impacting digital assets, payments, and trading to ensure proactive readiness and continuous improvement of compliance programs

  • Partner with internal audit and regulatory engagement teams to ensure evidence-based adherence to compliance requirements and best practices

Skills you should HODL

  • 7+ years of experience in product or regulatory compliance within financial services, fintech, or digital assets, with exposure to AML/CTF, sanctions, KYC/CDD, and consumer protection

  • In-depth understanding of multiple regulatory regimes (CFTC, SEC, NFA, FinCEN, OFAC, FCA, ESMA/MiFID II, MAS, etc.) and their implications for crypto and fintech product design

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate regulatory expectations into actionable product requirements and controls

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-jurisdictional, cross-functional projects under tight timelines with accountability and precision

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence and advise senior leaders across Legal, Product, and Engineering

  • Strategic thinker who can balance regulatory integrity, customer experience, and business growth
