About this Role

Crusoe Cloud Network Engineering team is looking for an ambitious, experienced team player to join our Network Engineering team. Crusoe Cloud Network Engineering Team is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global edge, backbone, and data center network for High Performance Compute (HPC) Clusters with GPUs. The ideal individual will be highly motivated, self-directed, and excited to work on cutting-edge technologies. You must possess strong analytical and communication skills and be a great team player.

As a Principal Network Traffic Engineer, you will serve as a technical strategist and architect, shaping Crusoe’s global network traffic design for scalability, performance, and resilience. You’ll drive the architecture of Layer 4/7 systems, including load balancing, global ingress, CMAF, FaaS, and WAF, and establish best practices for traffic engineering. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the company, mentor senior engineers, and represent Crusoe externally with partners and the community.

A Day in the Life:

  • Define the technical vision for Crusoe’s global traffic engineering architecture

  • Lead high-impact projects to scale and optimize L4/L7 network services

  • Design frameworks and tooling for automation, observability, and resilience

  • Guide Staff and Senior Staff engineers through mentorship and technical leadership

  • Engage with product and engineering leadership to align network strategy with business needs

  • Collaborate with external vendors, ISPs, and industry peers to influence networking standards

  • Participate in the global on-call rotation and drive improvements in operational excellence

You Will Thrive In This Role If:

  • 15+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on traffic engineering at scale

  • Proven leadership in designing L4/L7 architectures, multi-CDN systems, and global ingress solutions

  • Deep expertise in protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, etc.), networking standards, and best practices

  • Strong programming skills (Go, Python, Java, or C++) and experience with infrastructure as code

  • Ability to influence architectural decisions across multiple teams and domains

  • Excellent communication skills and a track record of mentoring senior engineers

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid up to $320,000 a year + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
