About this role in the team:

The APAC Operations Manager holds a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of digital assets, FX and payment transactions, overseeing the Treasury & Payment Operations teams within BVNK. The Singapore Operations manager will lead these teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, and continually enhancing operational processes to elevate the customer experience.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and guidance to the Treasury & Payment Operations teams . Cultivate a culture of excellence, teamwork, and customer-centricity ensuring adherence to service level agreements & regulatory requirements.

Team Development: Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members as needed to enhance their skills and effectiveness.

Lead Singapore Operations: Take charge of all operational activities, ensuring seamless execution of payment and treasury functions. This includes overseeing payment processes across various platforms, schemes and payment rails such as FEDWIRE, ACH, Faster Payments, CHAPS, SEPA CT, SEPA INST, SWIFT, and Digital Assets. You’ll be responsible for maintaining transaction accuracy, improving operational efficiency, and driving continuous enhancements to workflows. Your role will involve defining and implementing strategies to streamline operations, identify operational gaps, and optimize performance, all while upholding a high level of service and reliability across BVNK’s platform.

Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance with the EMI license in Singapore, including responsibility for daily client fund safeguarding calculations, regular reconciliation of safeguarded and operational accounts, and ensuring all activities meet the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulatory requirements. Stay current with industry regulations and ensure that teams adhere to all applicable laws and guidelines. Collaborate with the Compliance team to execute regular audits and maintain a high standard of compliance.

Issue and Incident Resolution: Oversee the resolution of all operational challenges related to payment and treasury processing, including issues such as failed transactions, monitoring transaction limits, and addressing concerns related to capital and liquidity loans. You will lead incident management efforts, ensuring prompt and effective responses to any emergencies or disruptions in operations, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring swift issue resolution.

Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation within both the Payment and Treasury operations teams, developing industry leading best practices to maximise efficiency whilst ensuring accuracy across all payment processing and safeguarding practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Data, Engineering, Product & Ops Delivery teams to drive operational optimisations and tooling into BVNK’s platform

Quality Assurance: Ensure quality assurance and end-to-end reviews of processes worked by the Payment and Treasury operations teams. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to maintain strong internal controls.

What we need from you:

  • Prior experience working in an EMI payments business is essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Finance, Operations, etc.) is required.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced fintech environment is required, combined with highly tuned interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing policies, processes, and systems from scratch, establishing high-performing operational environments.
  • Strong financial acumen, commercial awareness, analytical skills and the ability to lead both complexity and volume of demand
  • Strong ability to create and then expand operations reporting and metrics.
  • Change management skills – experience with/heavily involved with high-level process change
