MLRO and Regulatory Compliance Manager – eToro Money

About the Role

As part of eToro Money’s continued growth, we’re looking for a proactive, hands-on MLRO & Compliance Manager to join our Malta team and play a key role within eToro Money’s Group Governance, Risk and Compliance function.

What will you be doing?

• Act as the appointed MLRO, holding overall accountability for AML/CFT matters.
• Design, implement, and maintain effective controls to prevent financial crime, money laundering, and terrorist financing, ensuring alignment with the Company’s risk appetite.
• Oversee CDD/KYC, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, and the wider financial crime framework.
• Review internal SARs and file reports with the FIAU as appropriate.
• Provide regular updates to Management and the Board on compliance effectiveness, key metrics, and emerging regulatory trends.
• Act as the primary liaison with the MFSA and FIAU, managing communications, inspections, and remediation processes.
• Lead regulatory reporting obligations to the MFSA, including periodic returns, questionnaires, and governance notifications.
• Review and enhance compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with all applicable regulations and leading periodic Board reviews.
• Manage compliance oversight of outsourced activities across eToro Group entities.
• Stay up to date with evolving regulatory developments for EMIs and Payment Services Providers and proactively engage with regulators.
• Advise on new products and services to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Deliver AML/CFT training and foster a strong compliance culture across the organisation.

• Several years of experience in AML/CFT, ideally as a Deputy MLRO or senior AML professional, with direct MLRO exposure.
• In-depth knowledge of European AML/CFT regulations and familiarity with Electronic Money and Payment Services Regulations, including Maltese implementation.
• Proven experience engaging with regulators (MFSA/FIAU) and other authorities;
• Strong experience preparing and submitting regulatory reports and liaising directly with supervisory bodies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills — able to simplify complex regulatory topics for diverse audiences.
• Confidence to influence decisions and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Ability to work collaboratively across jurisdictions within a global organisation.
• Willingness to travel when occasionally required.
• Degree-level education preferred; professional AML qualifications or multilingual skills are an advantage.

• Being previously PQ’d by the MFSA is an advantage, as you will be PQ’d upon joining eToro in this role.
