Coinbase is looking for a Technology Controls Manager to drive second line of defense technology compliance initiatives and play a critical role in building and overseeing the design, implementation and monitoring of a technology control framework.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties)

  • Build, maintain and provide oversight over a technology controls inventory to mitigate technology risks and meet regulatory requirements, technology policies and technology frameworks
  • Build close relationships with stakeholder teams including Security, Engineering, Technology Governance, IT, and Operational Risk to advise on technology requirements and ensure excellence in control ownership
  • Assist with the build and implementation of control a monitoring and testing program over technology control effectiveness and key metrics
  • Support company wide initiatives to build a Technology Risk and Controls function and advance program maturity
  • Develop technology control requirements for new products, update relevant controls, and provide subject matter expertise over requirements to product organization and other stakeholders
  • Develop control and testing requirement documentation and deliver training to owners over control implementation, maintenance and remediation plans
  • Support annual Technology Risk and Controls Assessment
  • Perform control gap assessments over technology control environment and design and track remediation efforts to completion
  • Provide ongoing reporting to stakeholders and leadership on above responsibilities and communicate progress and escalations management
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to educate them about a complex technology control environment
  • Oversee quality of technology control initiatives and identify and analyze process gaps and thematic issues
  • Develop creative solutions to prove risk mitigation and solve for complex regulatory problems faced by the crypto industry
  • Identify opportunities to address systemic program challenges, recommend solutions and drive issue resolution

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Minimum of 7+ years of technology compliance or equivalent audit experience with experience leading and/or building a team of Full Time employees
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in technology frameworks such as COBIT, COSO, NIST, ISO 27001
  • Prior experience working closely with auditors and/or external regulators
  • Experience leading compliance initiatives from start to finish
  • Experience reporting technology compliance posture to senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of operational resilience programs and related regulatory requirements (DORA)
  • Proven technical understanding and audit experience of cloud technologies, AWS preferred
  • Ability to effectively and autonomously accomplish outcomes across cross-functional teams in ambiguous situations with minimal supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, direct cross functional work, and hold others accountable to committed deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate with technical / non-technical stakeholders to align on shared outcomes

Nice to haves:

  • BA or BS in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Security certifications e.g. CISA, CISSP, COBIT or other relevant certifications
  • Technical understanding of fintech services and/or crypto space

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
Pay Range:
$193,970$228,200 USD
