We’re building the infrastructure that will power the decentralized future.

As a fast-growing tech company, we’re looking for builders and innovators — people who thrive in the face of uncertainty and are motivated to make an impact. We are also looking for true teammates – people who are genuine, humble, and driven to level up together. If you’re excited to shape the future, contribute to an energetic company culture, and work at the cutting edge of blockchain technology, we want you to join our team and help us lead the charge!

About the opportunity

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with strong Ruby on Rails expertise and AWS infrastructure experience to join our APIs team. This team is responsible for implementing business logic and APIs that enable staking and unstaking of tokens across a variety of blockchain networks. A portion of our responsibility includes developing, understanding, and integrating with smart contracts on Ethereum.

This is a full-time remote position for candidates in North American time zones. If you enjoy working on a dynamic and collaborative team with lots of opportunities to learn and drive impactful business outcomes, this role may be a great fit. Ideal candidates are comfortable working in an unstructured environment, dealing with uncertainty, and working across a range of projects while demonstrating a strong sense of ownership.

How you will make an impact

  • Leading initiatives end-to-end through technical design, implementation, and testing
  • Contributing code as a Lead-level IC, demonstrating best practices, and setting standards for the rest of the team
  • Working closely with Product managers to clarify requirements, communicate design solutions, and set expectations
  • Working closely with our Security team to deliver the most secure software solutions we can
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members on all aspects of product development
  • Leading and refining the team’s software development processes
  • Designing and building both REST and GraphQL APIs that are scalable, secure, and easy to use
  • Bringing new ideas to the team, helping shape direction, and elevating team culture through knowledge sharing and mentorship

What you bring to the team

  • Strong Ruby on Rails background and a track record of successful Rails projects
  • Solid AWS infrastructure experience (ECS, RDS, etc.)
  • In-depth understanding of systems design and multi-service architecture
  • Familiarity with JavaScript for integration and scripting
  • Familiarity with data storage solutions (SQL/Redis/Data warehousing)
  • Experience with observability and monitoring practices (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, etc.)
  • Ability to own complete features and systems end-to-end — conception, breakdown, implementation, deployment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative mindset, humility, and a desire to contribute to team success over individual recognition
  • Passion for learning new technologies quickly and a strong bias toward simplicity and maintainability
  • Bonus: experience with smart contract development and DeFi protocols

Technologies we use

Ruby (on Rails), JavaScript, SQL, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, Datadog, GitHub, Slack, Jira

Teams you’ll collaborate with most often

In addition to collaborating with other Engineering team members, this role will collaborate most often with our Data Science and Data Availability teams.
