We’re looking for a Lead QE Engineer / SDET Lead to architect, scale, and lead our test automation strategy across Android, iOS, Browser Extension, and Web applications.
You’ll guide the evolution of our automation ecosystem — transforming our existing Appium + Java setup into a unified, modern framework that’s integrated deeply with GitHub Actions and Argo Workflows.
As the technical and people lead for the Quality Engineering function, you’ll set the direction for test strategy, framework design, CI/CD integration, and quality governance, while mentoring engineers to “shift left” and make automation part of every release pipeline.
This role combines hands-on technical depth with leadership, strategy, and collaboration across product, platform, and engineering teams.
Own the overall test automation strategy and roadmap across mobile, web, and extension applications.
Lead and mentor the QE/SDET team, setting priorities, reviewing code, and ensuring alignment with product and platform goals.
Architect and evolve our automation framework — transitioning from Appium + Java to a scalable, modular, and language-agnostic framework that supports parallel execution and unified reporting.
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and Argo Workflows, establishing consistent quality gates for PR merges, releases, and production deployments.
Drive best practices for reliability, test data management, flake detection, tagging, and reporting.
Implement observability for automation — dashboards, trend analysis, test coverage heatmaps, and release confidence metrics.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Platform, Mobile, Backend, and Web teams to embed testing and validation early in the SDLC.
Establish standards and governance for test code quality, folder structure, and contribution guidelines across teams.
Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to optimize performance, stability, and developer feedback loops.
Represent the QE function in planning, retrospectives, and release readiness reviews.
7+ years in QA automation / SDET roles, including 2+ years in a lead or architect capacity.
Proven experience designing and scaling automation frameworks across multiple platforms (mobile, web, extension).
Deep knowledge of Appium, Java/Kotlin, and cloud device farms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
Strong experience with Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress for modern web and extension automation.
Hands-on experience integrating automation into GitHub Actions or Argo Workflows pipelines (matrix builds, caching, artifact management).
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers, perform design/code reviews, and raise the quality bar across the org.
Deep understanding of test stability, flake reduction, retry strategies, and pipeline optimization.
Experience creating dashboards, reports, and KPIs that communicate automation health and release confidence.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first, cross-functional environment.
Experience building or managing automation frameworks as internal products (libraries, CLIs, reusable modules).
Exposure to visual regression, performance, or accessibility testing (Applitools, k6, Lighthouse).
Knowledge of Dockerized / Kubernetes-based test execution (EKS, parallel test containers).
Familiarity with AWS, Lambda, and observability stacks (Grafana, Loki).
Prior experience in establishing or scaling QE teams and defining metrics-driven QA maturity models.
Establish a unified, maintainable, and observable automation platform for all products.
Build a culture of quality ownership where automation and CI/CD reliability are shared priorities across engineering.
Reduce flakiness and manual validation through better design, monitoring, and test data management.
Provide real-time visibility into test health and release readiness metrics.
Shorten release cycles while increasing confidence in every deployment.
