Job Title: Japan Event Manager, Japan Marketing
Role Summary:
We are looking for a high-energy, strategic, and detail-oriented Event Manager to join our Japan Marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and management of a variety of events—ranging from high-touch executive roundtables, Flagship country event to user community event in industry, etc. You will work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, SE, Architecture, Marketing, and Global team) to create impactful experiences that drive customer engagement, brand loyalty, and pipeline growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute an integrated event strategy for the Japan market that aligns with Cisco’s business priorities and marketing objectives.
End-to-End Execution: Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, AV production, registration, and on-site management by working with event agency.
Executive Programs: Design and lead high-touch, small-scale events (e.g., CISO roundtables, advisory boards) focused on gathering product feedback and fostering peer-to-peer networking.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Marketing) and external partners/customers regarding event initiatives.
Vendor Management: Source and manage external agencies and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery within budget.
Budget Management: Oversee the event budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and accurate financial reporting.
Measurement & ROI: Define KPIs for each event, track performance, and provide post-event analysis and recommendations for future improvements.
Content Collaboration: Work with marketing managers to ensure event content and messaging are consistent with Cisco’s brand and product roadmap.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in event management, preferably within the B2B technology industry.
Language Skills: Native-level fluency in Japanese and professional proficiency in English (written and verbal) to collaborate with global teams.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand business goals and translate them into engaging event experiences.
Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior executives and customers.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and handle on-site challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
Technical Savvy: Proficiency in event management software (e.g., CVENT, Webex), CRM (Salesforce), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing “Invitation Only” executive programs.
Knowledge of the IT market and its key personas (CIOs, CISOs, IT Directors).
Familiarity with Cisco’s product portfolio and partner ecosystem.
