About CookUnity

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 35 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

The role:

💼 We’re looking for an Indirect Procurement Manager to build and lead our approach to sourcing non-core goods and services — with a strong emphasis on technology and software systems procurement. You’ll drive sourcing strategy across SaaS, digital infrastructure, professional services, facilities, and more.

🚀 As a key member of our growing team, you’ll be responsible for bringing structure and discipline to how we evaluate, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships, especially as we scale our technology stack to support our nationwide operations and future growth.

🤝 You’ll work hand-in-hand with stakeholders across the business, including: Tech, Product, Finance, Ops, and Facilities to understand evolving needs and translate them into smart sourcing decisions. If you thrive in fast-moving environments and love driving value through data, negotiation, and relationship-building — this is your role.

⏰ You’ll be CookUnity’s first dedicated hire in this space, with the opportunity to build a function from the ground up and shape how a hyper-growth food-tech company invests in its internal systems and services.

This is a hybrid position and requires onsite work 1–3 times per week

Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement strategy for indirect categories with a focus on SaaS, software infrastructure, and IT services, in addition to packaging, logistics, and professional services.
  • Design and own scalable sourcing processes that support speed, compliance, and value — balancing agility with long-term supplier relationships.
  • Partner with Tech, Product, and Finance to evaluate competing software platforms, negotiate contracts, and ensure commercial terms align with our scale and runway.
  • Develop vendor evaluation criteria for tech platforms, including TCO (total cost of ownership), security, roadmap alignment, and cross-functional fit.
  • Manage the full sourcing lifecycle: requirements gathering, RFI/RFP/RFQ, vendor negotiations, contract management, and performance tracking.
  • Implement lightweight procurement systems or tooling to bring transparency and control without slowing velocity.
  • Establish best-in-class vendor governance and SLA frameworks that scale with CookUnity’s growth.
  • Stay ahead of market trends in technology, supply chain, and software licensing models to inform procurement strategy and de-risk decision making.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement or strategic sourcing, ideally with a strong emphasis on technology, software, or IT services.
  • Proven ability to lead sourcing and negotiation for complex SaaS agreements, including volume licensing, SLAs, and renewals.
  • Track record of supporting fast-scaling organizations or startups, with experience navigating ambiguity and rapidly evolving priorities.
  • Strong relationship management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset; you’re comfortable building business cases, modeling cost scenarios, and backing recommendations with data.
  • Familiarity with procurement and contract lifecycle tools (e.g., Ironclad, Zip, Coupa, etc.) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience setting up procurement infrastructure (processes, tooling, vendor policies) from scratch.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, data privacy, or legal review as part of tech procurement cycles.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.

Mandatory requirements:

  • A desire to help build and scale at the world’s preeminent, industry-disrupting, Food Tech Company.
