The Opportunity
- We’re looking for a highly capable, HVAC supervisor. This role is open to all nationalities (UAE / Gulf experience preferred).
What you’ll do
- Lead installation, supervision, testing, and commissioning of HVAC chiller systems (centrifugal, screw, air-cooled, water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, pumps, piping).
- Ensure all chiller works comply with project specifications, ASHRAE 90.1, AHRI 550/590, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and Civil Defence standards.
- Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, pressure, and performance tests on chillers and auxiliaries (condensers, evaporators, heat exchangers).
- Verify chiller components, refrigerant piping (R134a/R410A), insulation, and piping materials (carbon steel, copper) meet project requirements and Dubai Green Building Regulations.
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and BMS teams for seamless integration of chiller systems with power, water, and controls.
- Obtain approvals from DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and Civil Defence for chiller installations and energization.
- Train and supervise technicians & laborers on chiller installation, refrigerant handling, valve fitting, pump alignment, and maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex issues (chiller surging, low delta-T, refrigerant leaks, pump cavitation) and coordinate solutions with engineers.
- Maintain detailed daily logs of installation progress, test results, material usage, and commissioning data for documentation and audits.
- Enforce safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, refrigerant safety) per UAE Labour Law and Civil Defence requirements.
- Manage snagging, defect rectification, and final handover of chiller systems with zero defects.
- Support full system commissioning (flow balancing, chiller sequencing, capacity testing) and ensure performance meets design criteria.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of chiller components and refrigerants to prevent damage or environmental issues.
- Use BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks) for clash detection and coordination of chiller systems with other MEP works.
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, main contractors, and authorities for inspections, approvals, and technical clarifications.
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Refrigeration.
- 5–8 years hands-on experience in HVAC chiller systems (installation, testing, commissioning) in UAE MEP projects (high-rise / commercial preferred).
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, AHRI 550/590, ASME B31.5, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and Civil Defence standards.
- Proficiency in reading P&IDs, technical drawings, and using testing equipment (pressure gauges, flow meters, refrigerant analyzers).
- Experience with refrigerant handling, BMS integration, and Dubai Green Building Regulations.
- Leadership & supervision skills; ability to train and manage site teams.
- Good English communication (Arabic is a plus).
- Valid UAE driving license preferred.
