About the role:

As part of the overall HR Team, this role will be the company’s first dedicated HR hire in Malaysia, responsible for setting up and managing core HR functions. This role will handle end-to-end HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll coordination, and HR administration. The successful candidate will work closely with the overall HR group to establish HR policies, ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws, and support the company’s growth by building structured and effective people processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with business leaders to understand business strategy, organizational needs, and workforce challenges, providing HR guidance across talent acquisition, performance management, talent development, promotion, succession, and employee relations;
  • Participate in key business discussions and meetings, offering insights and recommendations from a people and organizational development perspective;
  • Provide strategic input on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning to support sustainable business growth;
  • Support the effective implementation of company HR policies, processes, and compliance requirements within assigned business units;
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HR Centers of Excellence (COE) to support the attraction, development, and retention of talent, with a focus on customer service, sales, and account management teams;
  • Analyze HR data and key workforce metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to management;
  • Participate, as needed, in the management of employee relations and compliance-related matters, ensuring alignment with company policies and local labor laws.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • 7+ years and above of relevant experience within HR with prior experience in a HR Business Partner role or recruitment is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin);
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into people solutions;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment;
  • Working knowledge of Malaysia labor laws, regulations, and employment practices;
  • Understanding of performance management and incentive frameworks for sales, customer service, and account management teams is preferred.
