The Role

As a Junior–Mid-Level HR Business Partner at Matter Labs, you’ll play a pivotal role in aligning our people strategies with business objectives. Operating within a dynamic Web3 environment, you’ll support various teams by providing HR guidance, fostering employee engagement, and driving organisational effectiveness.This role is ideal for an HR professional with a foundational understanding of HR principles and a passion for contributing to a mission-driven organisation. You will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to implement HR initiatives that support our decentralised and remote-first culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Partnership

  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand business goals and develop HR strategies that support organizational objectives.

  • Provide insights and recommendations on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Manage employee relations issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and evaluations.

Talent Development & Engagement

  • Identify training and development needs; coordinate learning initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth.

  • Drive employee engagement programs to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure HR practices comply with local labor laws and regulations across jurisdictions.

  • Maintain accurate HR records and reports; utilize HRIS systems effectively.

  • Assist in the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.

What We Look For in You

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an HR role, preferably within a tech or startup environment.

  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
    Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational abilities, with attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with evolving priorities.
    Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in HRIS systems and common workplace software (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack).

  • Mission Alignment: A genuine interest in advancing personal freedom and contributing to a mission-driven organisation.
