About This Role:

Crusoe Energy is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our expanding HSE team. This newly created role, reporting directly to the HSE Director and based at our Cherry Creek / Denver Office, will be a vital member of the central HSE function, providing crucial support to multiple groups and areas across Crusoe’s operations. The primary focus of this role will be the development and implementation of a robust Contractor Safety Management program specifically targeting construction operations. Additionally, the HSE Specialist will be responsible for the management of various HSE-related systems, data analytics, key metrics, and comprehensive reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundational understanding of technical HSE principles and a thorough grasp of HSE systems, data management, and performance metrics. This is a full-time position.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Contractor Safety Management Program: Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive Contractor Safety Management program with a strong emphasis on construction operations.

  • Contractor Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication channels with contractors as necessary to ensure clear HSE performance expectations and achieve desired outcomes.

  • HSE Process Development: Develop and implement various essential HSE processes, procedures, detailed work instructions, and practical checklists as required to support safe operations.

  • HSE Reporting and Analytics: Design and deliver insightful HSE reports, user-friendly dashboards, and clear communications to stakeholders.

  • Compliance Monitoring: Continuously monitor adherence to relevant regulations, established company policies, and standard operating procedures.

  • Objective and Metric Tracking: Monitor and accurately report on key HSE objectives and performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • HSE Training Matrix Management: Manage the HSE Training Matrix and ensure precise alignment of training assignments within the Learning Management System (LMS) with defined role expectations.

  • HSE Culture Promotion: Support a strong and proactive HSE awareness and safety-conscious culture throughout the organization through effective communications, engaging training initiatives, and promoting active involvement in HSE programs.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Educational Foundation: A university degree is required.

  • Relevant Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience is required, with a preference for experience in construction, manufacturing, or other industrial sectors.

  • HSE Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive technical knowledge of various HSE rules and regulations at both the Federal and State levels. Direct experience in the practical implementation of HSE rules, regulations, company policies, and established procedures is essential.

  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey HSE information to diverse audiences.

  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in standard office software and HSE data management systems.

  • Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience implementing or managing safety programs in a high-growth environment.

  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration.

  • Auditing experience (e.g., conducting internal or external HSE audits).

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $110,000 – $133,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
