Head of Trading Operations

About the Role

We are building a new proprietary crypto trading desk and are looking for a Head of Trading Operations to establish and scale its operational backbone. This is a key role, responsible for ensuring that our trading desk operates with speed, precision, and resilience. You’ll be the link between our validator expertise and the high-performance world of systematic trading, working closely with the Head of Trading, infrastructure team, and broader company leadership.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and wants to play a pivotal role in shaping a trading business from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

Trading Operations

• Oversee the full trade lifecycle: order execution, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Build and manage the operational infrastructure, tools, and workflows to enable seamless trading activity.

• Continuously improve processes to optimize efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

• Proactively identify, initiate, and execute improvements that reduce costs, minimize errors, and free up traders from operational bottlenecks.

Business Management & Strategy

• Lead business management for the trading unit, including budgeting, P&L oversight, and performance tracking.

• Provide data-driven insights, dashboards, and KPI reporting to support strategic decision-making.

• Coordinate with exchanges, custodians and other external partners.

• Build and integrate a small, high-performing operations team into our broader company culture.

Risk & Compliance

• Design and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework across market, counterparty, credit, and operational risks.

• Monitor risk exposures in real time and implement robust controls to stay within trading limits.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, internal policies, and reporting obligations.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in trading operations, business management, or related functions in digital assets or traditional finance. Experience in a proprietary trading or hedge fund setting is a strong plus.

• Hands-on mindset – you’re ready to build things yourself, roll up your sleeves, and work in a very non-hierarchical organization without necessarily having direct reports.

• Technical fluency, ideally with working knowledge of Excel, SQL and basic scripting (Python preferred).

• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage both detail-oriented tasks and high-level strategic initiatives.

• A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit – comfortable working in a lean startup environment where you help build the foundations.

• Keen interest in blockchain, crypto, and DeFi is a definite plus.
