About the Opportunity
As OKX continues to expand its European presence, including recent regulatory approval under the MiCA framework, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Risk, based in Malta, to lead risk management across the European Economic Area (EEA).
This is a senior leadership role accountable for building and overseeing a robust second-line risk function that spans financial and non-financial risk domains. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing consistent, regulatory-aligned risk frameworks across OKX’s EEA operations and serving as a key advisor to senior leadership.
The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution, including direct engagement with local regulators and collaboration with cross-functional teams across the region. It is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of risk in a fast-moving, regulated digital asset environment.

Develop, implement, and continuously enhance risk management frameworks aligned with MiCA and other applicable EU regulatory standards.
-
Act as the primary regional risk representative in regulatory engagements across the EEA, including supervision, audits, and formal risk reporting.
-
Establish and manage regional risk governance, including engagement with the Board of Directors, Audit and Risk Committees, escalation protocols, and the definition and monitoring of risk appetite statements.
-
Conduct and lead scenario analyses and stress testing to assess resilience to a range of market and operational scenarios.
-
Partner with senior stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Product & Engineering, and Finance to embed risk-awareness and effective risk mitigation throughout business processes.
-
Deliver clear, data-driven risk reporting and insight to executive leadership and Boards.
-
Build and lead a Malta-based risk team with EEA-wide responsibilities, promoting a high-performance, compliance-driven culture.
-
Collaborate with global risk counterparts to ensure consistency in frameworks, policies, and tools across jurisdictions.
What We Look For In You
