Head of Market Data and Access Services, North America – Cboe Data Vantage

Location: NYC (flex hybrid)

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join the Cboe Data Vantage team in North America working from our New York City office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business and product development within the financial services industry with a focus on market data distribution, exchange connectivity and trading.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading the strategic direction and product development for North American products while maintaining a constant focus on managing and growing revenues for the business. While this position will be focused on the growth and management of the North American product suite, there will be opportunities to work on behalf of the global product portfolio as needed.

Business Management

  • Manage, develop, and maintain P&L, ROI, financial projections, pricing, and competitive analysis models based on extensive research, data, and industry trends to influence, formulate, and prioritize strategic decisions/direction.

  • Develop the data and connectivity product/commercial strategy that anticipates industry trends, technological advancements, and evolving client requirements

  • Establish product delivery roadmaps, business development efforts, financial analysis, and performance metrics as needed.

  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including data providers, financial institutions, and technology partners.

  • Contribute to financial forecasting, budget process, revenue projections, and business trend analysis.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, performance metrics, and market insights to senior management.

Product Development

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential opportunities for growth.

  • Identify and assess new product ideas, market opportunities, and/or current gaps, for product roadmap development based on detailed analysis, research, customer feedback, and internal collaboration.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.

  • Develop new products and enhance existing ones by consulting with customers to gain insights into their specific needs.

  • Document requirements, meeting notes, agendas, and action items for various stakeholders – both internally and externally as needed.

  • Develop complex pricing models to include multiple variable inputs and outputs to fully assess business impact of various changes.

  • Review and assist in the process of drafting commercial contracts, policies, and legal filings in coordination with the legal team.

Product Implementation

  • Manage high-value projects for Cboe Data Vantage business, ensuring the launch of commercially successful products through coordination with internal stakeholders across the organization to make sure products are delivered on time and on budget.

  • Contribute to all aspects of product implementation as required including working with engineering, infrastructure, operations, support, sales, marketing, communications, finance, legal, and compliance.

Product, Sales & Customer Support

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on product offerings, customer segment targets, use case pricing, and policy requirements with regards to connecting to and receiving data from various Cboe Exchanges

  • Discuss product suite and solutions with our existing and prospective clients to educate them on our offering as it relates to their individual use cases, technical implementations, and requirements.

  • Attend meetings, conference calls, and provide information in effort to assist the Sales Team in selling Cboe Data products.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.

  • Develop Sales collateral, white papers, and other materials with the support of our Marketing and Communications team to communicate the value of Cboe products.

  • Support the Global Business Operations Team as needed through assisting in customer onboarding, customer inquiries, and helping to drive operational efficiencies.

Job Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years with proven track record in business analysis, product strategy, product management, and project management

  • Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree, advanced degree a plus

  • Experience in financial services, and in particular, with a Financial Data Vendor, Financial Information Provider, Exchange Operator, or Broker-Dealer

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including the following:

    • Word – develop detailed business cases, product summaries, product requirements, technical requirements, marketing content, filings, etc.

    • Excel – develop complex pricing models, financial projections, ROI analysis, etc. Sigma and/or data visualization knowledge helpful.

    • PowerPoint – develop high quality business, product, and technical presentations for customers, internal stakeholders, and senior management.

  • Proven business management and product development experience working cross-functionally to implement complex large-scale initiatives across multiple areas of an organization is required.

  • Business analysis or similar experience is required, serving as the foundational framework for many of the responsibilities of the role.

  • Domain expertise in the financial services industry, market structure, network connectivity, infrastructure, trading systems, data, indices, and/or financial information platforms a plus.

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively, and independently with transparency being key.

  • Careful attention to detail with strong analytical and research skills (qualitative and quantitative).

  • Ability to evaluate, analyze, and summarize information to provide insight, establish connections, and inform decision making.

  • Comfort drafting complex product and business requirements and working cross-functionality across the organization to implement initiatives.

  • Excellent communicator with strong verbal, written language, and customer service skills (internally and externally with clients/prospects).

  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively alongside colleagues on different teams and in different regions.

Our pay ranges are determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, role, experience, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $199,750-$246,750. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay the company expects to offer for new hires working in the position full time. If you live in one of the following areas or if you work in a Cboe office in the following areas, the range may be higher according to the geographic differentials listed below:

US Geographic Differentials:

  • 110%: Austin TX, Chicago IL, Denver CO, San Diego CA

  • 115%: Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA

  • 120%: Boston MA, Washington DC

  • 125%: New York City NY

  • 130%: San Francisco CA

Within the range, individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
