About the Role:

The Head of KYC at the BIT Group will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Group’s KYC function across its global businesses. Reporting to the Head of AML, this role will drive the effective implementation and continuous enhancement of the Group’s KYC framework, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

The Head of KYC will oversee the Group’s onboarding and KYC fulfilment teams based in Singapore and the Group’s offshore centre of excellence. Working closely with the Head of AML and Group Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), this role will play a key part in strengthening the Group’s client due diligence framework while supporting the business in achieving scalable and efficient onboarding processes.

Partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Head of KYC will act as a trusted advisor on onboarding and KYC matters while supporting the Group’s continued growth in the digital asset industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Group’s KYC function, including client onboarding, periodic reviews, name screening and account maintenance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring consistent application of KYC standards and operational efficiency.
  • Support the Head of AML in the development and continuous enhancement of BIT’s KYC framework, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Drive KYC-related compliance initiatives and operational improvements, working closely with internal stakeholders across Legal, Operations, Technology, Product, Customer Service and Business teams.
  • Oversee the effective execution of the Group’s AML/CFT framework in partnership with the Head of AML and the Monitoring & Investigations team, ensuring appropriate client due diligence and risk management controls.
  • Manage relationships with third-party AML/KYC technology vendors (e.g. eKYC, screening and monitoring solutions) and ensure the effective utilisation of compliance systems.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and support regulatory engagements, audits, licensing applications, and internal risk assessments relating to KYC matters.
  • Prepare and present KYC metrics, dashboards, and management reporting to senior management and drive remediation of identified issues where necessary.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on KYC requirements and onboarding standards, while acting as a key point of contact for onboarding-related matters.
  • Support ad-hoc compliance initiatives and projects, including audits, regulatory reviews, and enterprise-wide risk assessments (EWRA), as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accountancy, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in AML/KYC or compliance within a financial institution, fintech or digital asset company.
  • Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations, KYC standards and regulatory expectations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience managing KYC onboarding and client due diligence processes at scale, preferably in a global or high-growth environment.
  • Prior experience in digital assets / cryptocurrency compliance is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese is required.
