In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That’s for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We’re solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don’t always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

We are seeking a Growth Marketing Manager who will play a key role in developing and executing data-driven strategies to enhance customer acquisition and engagement. You will work across marketing channels to find opportunities to scale our growth more effectively.
In this role, you’ll;
- Co-develop and execute data-driven growth marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, activation, and retention.
- Optimize digital and offline marketing channel strategies to improve conversion rates and maximize ROI.
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, analytics, and country teams to enhance customer acquisition and engagement strategies.
- Leverage customer insights, A/B testing, and analytics to refine messaging, user journeys, and campaign effectiveness.
- Project manage and scale growth experiments and implement processes to optimize marketing efficiency.
- Analyze growth metrics and develop regular reporting to measure performance and inform strategic decisions.

- Location: You’ll work from our office in Abidjan.
- You must have work authorization in Côte d’Ivoire.

Requirements
- +10 years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or a similar role, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or mobile technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, data science, or a related field.
- Languages: Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management as well as experience leading large-scale and complex cross-functional projects.
- Proven ability to scale customer acquisition through paid media, organic growth, referrals, and partnerships.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in A/B testing, marketing attribution models and data analytics (including proficiency managing data with excel/google sheets and familiarity with SQL).
- Understanding of digital marketing tools (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, CRM, marketing automation) and growth hacking techniques.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
