About the team

Join a group of passionate engineers at Paxos dedicated to transforming the foundational rails of digital asset custody, settlement, and movement. The team is responsible for designing and scaling distributed ledger-based systems, secure transaction workflows, and high-performance APIs that power regulated and mission-critical financial products. You’ll work at the intersection of modern distributed computing, secure digital asset management, and enterprise-grade financial infrastructure.

About the role

As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a senior engineering team developing back-end systems for secure digital asset issuance, movement, and custody. You will collaborate closely with product, operations, and compliance, guiding the technical direction of services that enable partners and clients to move and manage assets efficiently, safely, and at scale. You’ll be responsible for building resilient infrastructure, managing stakeholder priorities, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and curiosity.

What you’ll do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers working on distributed ledger, secure transaction, and API infrastructure
• Oversee technical delivery, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of the platform
• Drive the technical roadmap for distributed ledgers, digital asset workflows, and integration APIs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Compliance, Operations) to align technology with business goals
• Champion best practices around code quality, automated testing, documentation, and incident management
• Identify and resolve process bottlenecks and technical risks before they impact team success
• Support recruiting and onboarding, and cultivate an inclusive, innovative engineering culture
• Stay informed on trends in distributed systems, cryptography, and secure financial technology

About you

• Proven experience (7+ years) in software engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a management role within an engineering team.
• Familiarity with code deployment and maintenance, cloud platforms and services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Eager to deepen your expertise and make impactful contributions to blockchain protocols, cryptographic principles, consensus algorithms, and decentralized applications (dApps).
