About This Role
As the Director of Production at Crusoe, you’ll be a key leader, overseeing all production operations across multiple sites and managing the manufacturing of the electrical infrastructure critical to our growing data center business. We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader who can help scale our business from the ground up, translate innovative designs into tangible products, and drive operational excellence. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing production teams—including fabrication, assembly, wiring, and paint—to ensure the efficient, on-schedule, and high-quality manufacturing of our electrical power systems. This role demands a proactive, culture-first approach, the ability to thrive with limited information, and a commitment to mentoring production managers while implementing Lean and Six Sigma principles. This is a full-time position.
What You’ll Be Working On
Strategic and Operational Leadership: Act as a key liaison to company officers, developing long- and short-range manufacturing plans, policies, and objectives. You’ll ensure critical communications, decisions, and policies are relayed to the leadership team.
Build and Scale Operations: Play a critical role in the continuing build-out of our Tulsa facility, helping to ramp up full-scale production and establish robust, scalable manufacturing processes.
Drive Standardization and Quality: Develop and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all manufacturing sites to ensure products consistently meet quality standards. You will also implement and maintain comprehensive production standards and manufacturing procedures.
Optimize Resources and Financials: Manage cost centers and collaborate with the finance team to develop Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operating Expense (OpEx) budgets. You’ll forecast and optimize employee levels to achieve annual budgetary plans.
Lead and Develop Teams: Direct and monitor all production departments to meet manufacturing goals. You will be responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring production managers and staff to build high-performing teams, taking corrective action as needed.
Champion Continuous Improvement: Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and minimize waste using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma. You’ll track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive progressive process improvements.
Manage New Product Introduction (NPI): Work closely with engineering and other teams on manufacturing planning for new products, including bill of materials (BOM) management, developing work instructions, and designing quality control (QC) tests.
Ensure Compliance and Technology Integration: Understand and integrate ISO 9001 requirements into production processes and prepare for quality audits. You’ll also utilize modern information and technology to increase innovation and compliance.
What You’ll Bring
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience, with a significant portion in a leadership role, including leading multi-site, geographically dispersed teams.
Technical Skills: Proven experience with new product introduction (NPI), including BOM management and developing work instructions. You should have successful experience with ERP software and the ability to implement updates without delays.
Leadership Qualities: You must have a proactive leadership style, capable of inspiring both shop floor and office staff, with a strong ability to mentor production managers and envision the bigger picture. We need someone with excellent cross-functional team-building skills who can successfully negotiate production limitations across all departments.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a strong desire to build things correctly the first time.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% or more as needed.
