About the Role:

A Director of Product Management, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a senior leader responsible for defining and driving the product strategy and roadmap for a company’s IaaS offerings. This role involves balancing customer needs with technical feasibility and business goals, and overseeing the entire product lifecycle from ideation to delivery and continuous improvement. In essence, a Director of Product Management, IaaS is a visionary leader who blends technical expertise with business acumen to guide the development and growth of a company’s IaaS offerings.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Setting the product vision and strategy: Define the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for the IaaS product portfolio, aligning it with overall company goals, market trends, and customer needs, and GTM strategy.

  • Leading and managing a team: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of product managers, overseeing their performance and development.

  • Driving product development and execution: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to landing.

  • Market analysis and competitive intelligence: Conduct market research, analyze competitive landscape, and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in the IaaS space to inform product strategy and identify new opportunities.

  • Customer engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and translate them into actionable product improvements.

  • Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy: Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop effective GTM strategies and messaging for IaaS offerings, including pricing and positioning.

  • Performance management: Monitor key performance metrics, analyze data to measure product success, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Resource and budget management: Manage product budgets and resources effectively to achieve business goals.

  • Risk management: Proactively identify and address technical risks, infrastructure bottlenecks, and scaling challenges.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work effectively with various teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, support, and other stakeholders, to ensure successful product execution.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Strategic thinking and leadership: Ability to think strategically, set a clear vision, make informed decisions, and guide the team towards achieving product goals.

  • Deep technical acumen: Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure technologies and trends, including public and private cloud, virtualization, containerization, and preferably experience as a builder of planet scale cloud products. with specific cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Product management expertise: Proven track record in product management, particularly in the IaaS domain, with experience managing and launching technical products and features. Possibly coming up through engineering

  • Analytical skills and data-driven decision making: Ability to analyze market and customer data, interpret complex data sets, and use insights to drive product strategy and decisions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, present technical concepts, and build consensus.

  • Experience leading and managing teams: Proven experience in leading and mentoring product management teams.

  • Agile and Lean methodologies: Familiarity with Agile and Lean product management methodologies.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $235,000 -$295,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
