Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will be a key strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team. This role is responsible for leading the company’s financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic analysis functions to support data-driven decision-making and long-term value creation. The ideal candidate has deep FP&A experience in a publicly traded environment, strong analytical acumen, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting, long-range planning, and quarterly forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Partner with business units to develop financial models, key performance indicators (KPIs), and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Support strategic planning activities, including M&A modeling, capital allocation, and business case development.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly financial performance analysis, including variance explanations and business insights for the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Develop and enhance management reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Track business performance against key metrics and financial goals.
  • Collaborate closely with SEC reporting and investor relations teams to support quarterly earnings processes, guidance preparation, and external financial communications.
  • Support preparation for earnings calls, Board meetings, and investor presentations with key financial insights and analysis.
  • Stay informed on fintech, cryptocurrency, and regulatory trends to inform financial strategies and competitive benchmarking
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team.
  • Serve as a thought leader to department heads and functional teams, offering strategic insights to optimize business performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including at least 3+ years in a leadership role at a public company.
  • Proven track record of supporting C-suite executives and Boards with financial insight and strategic planning.
  • Experience in a publicly traded technology, fintech, SaaS, or digital asset company.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP financials, corporate finance, and capital markets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear executive-level narratives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial planning tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, etc.), and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting IPO readiness, M&A transactions, or investor relations.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and public company reporting cycles.
  • Experience managing FP&A for a multinational or multi-entity structure.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $165,000 – $185,000 USD base salary. Equity, an annual performance bonus and the benefits outlined below are also a part of this role’s package.
