Cboe is seeking a Listings Assistant General Counsel, Director
As a team, the legal department is responsible for handling all legal matters for the Company including regulatory filings, SEC and CFTC compliance, contract drafting/review, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, disputes, litigation, etc.
Your responsibilities will be:
Manage specialized knowledge to support national securities exchanges regulated by the SEC, with a particular focus on exchange rules and filings and initiatives to support exchange-traded products (“ETPs”) listed and traded on Cboe’s listing market.
Develop and draft rule filings and SEC regulatory filings, articulating clear rationales and objectives for proposed changes, and seek regulatory approval of these filings.
Cultivate and nurture strategic relationships with legal counsel representing ETP issuers
Work with the ETP Listings business leadership to drive growth in the ETP listings business by providing expert legal counsel and innovative thinking
Prepare complex comment letters and help to respond to regulatory inquiries
Provide advice on legal and regulatory issues resulting from new and existing regulations and business initiatives
Counsel senior management by identifying issues, conducting research and drafting documents
Respond to other general legal matters including those related to securities trading and corporate law issues
Review regulatory and informational publications
Monitor new domestic and international regulatory developments that directly or indirectly impact the company
Provide legal counsel to the company in connection with regulatory exams, inspections and other matters
Other legal support for company activities
The ideal candidate has:
A minimum of 8 years of experience working at a law firm of at a corporation, with a specialty related to securities exchange regulations, other securities regulatory matters or related fields of law.
Previous employment at the SEC or a futures or securities exchange is desirable
Must be able to develop business-led solutions while driving the risk management agenda
Ability to effectively evaluate contractual and regulatory requirements, understand their impact on the business, and develop creative solutions
Highly motivated, strategic, detail-oriented with the ability to pro-actively organize a heavy workload and demonstrate excellent analytical abilities
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional business and legal team members and outside counsel
Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate required (from an accredited institution)
Member of applicable state bar
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, as well as document management and other office technologies
Experience with the Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and crypto assets a plus, but not required

Our pay ranges are determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, role, experience, level, and location. The national new hire base pay range for this job in the United States is $182,750-$225,750. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay the company expects to offer for new hires working in the position full time. If you live in one of the following areas or if you work in a Cboe office in the following areas, the range may be higher according to the geographic differentials listed below:
US Geographic Differentials:
110%: Austin TX, Chicago IL, Denver CO, San Diego CA
115%: Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA
120%: Boston MA, Washington DC
125%: New York City NY
130%: San Francisco CA
Within the range, individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
