Your Purpose
As a Design Manager at Bitso, you will lead and grow a team of talented designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-centered solutions that meet both business and customer needs. You will be responsible for creating an environment where designers can thrive, learn, and deliver excellent work in close partnership with product managers, engineers, content designers, and researchers.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance people management, delivery accountability, and design quality.

Who You Are
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a people management role.
- Proven experience delivering high-quality design work in product companies (must).
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams that include design, content design and UX research.
- Experience in fintech, banking, crypto, or investment products is a strong plus.
- Previous experience in fast-paced, cross-functional product teams.
Skills
- Strong design craft, with solid understanding of UX/UI principles, design systems, and user research.
- Proven ability to lead and develop designers, providing both strategic direction and hands-on coaching.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, make decisions, and drive accountability.
- Strong business-oriented mindset: you connect design work to outcomes.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (both oral and written).
Strong desirable skills
- Team leadership with strong focus on coaching, elevating design quality, and driving outcomes.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
What You Will Do
People Leadership
- Manage, coach, and grow a team of designers, supporting their career development and performance.
- Set clear goals and expectations, providing regular, actionable feedback.
- Foster a culture of ownership, high standards, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead interdisciplinary teams including product designers, content designers, and user researchers.
Delivery & Quality
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality design work aligned with product and business priorities.
- Review and elevate design output, maintaining consistency with Bitso’s design system, brand, and UX standards.
- Partner with content, research and product peers to drive excellent, coherent user experiences across platforms.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional leaders to define priorities, scope, and execution plans.
- Represent design in cross-team initiatives, ensuring user-centered thinking is embedded in decision-making.
- Actively contribute to design critiques, reviews, and broader team rituals to maintain alignment and raise the design bar.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and address process gaps that impact design delivery or team efficiency.
- Advocate for scalable practices that help the team operate effectively across multiple time zones and squads.
- Partner with the Head of Design and Design Ops to refine team rituals, tools, and workflows
