Mission and Operations

Data Processing Operation Engineer (f/m/d)

About Satellogic

Satellogic is a vertically integrated Earth Observation satellite and data company. We design, manufacture, and operate our own fleet of satellites, the Aleph-1 constellation, which delivers high-frequency, high-resolution imagery plus full-motion video.

Earth Observation imagery and data are key to monitoring change at scale, informing critical decisions, and ultimately helping solve the world’s most pressing problems. Our mission is to democratize access to this information, making it affordable and available for those who need it across a wide range of industries, from climate monitoring and agriculture, to energy, infrastructure and many more. We want to do our part in building a world where every organization is prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.

With a growing team of more than 300 employees spanning 10 countries, Satellogic is a diverse group of purpose-driven professionals across software development, satellite engineering, operations, data science, manufacturing, and sales. We are excited to grow and welcome team members who push the limits, get things done, and never stop learning—all while being humble, honest, and empathetic.

About the team

The Data Processing Operations team ensures the smooth and reliable operation of Satellogic’s data ground segment — from the initial ingestion of satellite data to the delivery of high-quality imagery products to our clients. Our mission is to provide end-to-end visibility, reliability, and quality control across all processing levels.

We work closely with developers and customer success, combining technical insight with operational excellence. While we don’t develop software, we have a deep understanding of the processing pipelines and actively monitor their performance, investigate issues, and collaborate across teams to ensure robust and efficient delivery.

About the position

We are looking for a proactive and technically curious engineer to join our Data Processing Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance and reliability of our satellite imagery processing workflows — from raw data ingestion to the delivery of high-quality products to our clients.

You’ll need a solid understanding of image processing concepts, you’ll also need a working knowledge of systems and infrastructure, as you’ll participate in efforts to improve processing reliability, reduce manual interventions, and increase observability throughout the pipelines.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to define meaningful operational metrics, improve traceability, deploy monitoring dashboards, and implement alerting mechanisms. You’ll also help assess system behavior and product quality.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across disciplines, can navigate technical complexity, and wants to help scale and strengthen the operational backbone of a space company.
