A quick run-down of the job

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to build and maintain the backbone of our data infrastructure. You’ll ensure our systems run smoothly, data quality stays high, and the company can leverage data at scale.

This role will be reporting to our Chapter Lead, DevOps. You’ll collaborate closely with backend, data, and product teams, taking initiative to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.

Please note: This role requires you to be located in EMEA. Your application will not be considered otherwise.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain complex ETL platforms, pipelines, and data warehouses

  • Implement governance, monitoring, and testing tools to ensure data quality

  • Partner with backend team on Kafka and event-driven systems

  • Translate requirements and align workflows between backend, data, and DevOps teams

  • Write infrastructure code and processes to make data systems scalable long-term

  • Mentor DevOps team on data engineering best practices

What makes a good candidate

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience with proven track record building and maintaining complex pipelines and ETL platforms

  • Hands-on experience with Kafka, AWS services, Python, SQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, data visualization, and data quality monitoring

  • Terraform expertise, with experience implementing infrastructure as code in production

  • Strong cross-team communication, able to translate requirements between backend, data, DevOps, and other stakeholders

  • Proactive ownership and independence in managing infrastructure

  • Experience in finance, payments, logistics, or other highly transactional industries is a plus

  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, GCP, JavaScript, AI/ML Ops, and data architecture is a plus

  • Exposure to data governance practices is a plus

  • Mentorship experience, particularly supporting DevOps with data engineering skills

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, scaling startup environment
