About Velocity

Velocity is on a mission to unify the world of fiat and digital assets by leveraging stablecoins to optimise liquidity, facilitate cross-border transactions, and seamlessly integrate with existing global banking, payment, and treasury infrastructures. With strategic partnerships—such as our collaboration with Fireblocks—and a clear regulatory-first approach, Velocity aims to transform global commerce through four key use cases:

  • Stablecoin Payouts: Enabling global payouts to consumers and businesses in digital assets.

  • Merchant Settlement: Capturing the FX wallets of the world’s largest merchant acquirers.

  • Enterprise Cross-Border: Utilising stablecoins for faster fiat-to-fiat cross-border settlements.

  • Treasury Management: Delivering a unified stablecoin/fiat treasury management platform to replace existing inefficient and costly setups.

We believe stablecoins, in their new regulated form, have the potential to redefine global treasury operations and financial services as a whole.

Position Overview

As Company Manager of Velocity Latvia, you will serve as the locally based senior officer responsible for the operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance of Velocity’s Latvian-licensed entity. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with local and global Compliance and Group leadership, you will act as head of the regulated European business and serve as the primary interface with relevant Latvian and EU supervisory authorities. You will:

  • Serve as the senior management function holder for the Latvian entity, ensuring the company meets all regulatory obligations under MiCA, PSD2, and applicable Latvian financial services legislation.

  • Oversee the entity’s compliance with prudential requirements, including capital adequacy, liquidity management, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.

  • Ensure full compliance with Latvian AML/CFTP Law and EU AML frameworks, working alongside the group’s Financial Crime and MLRO functions to implement and maintain robust financial crime prevention controls.

  • Maintain corporate governance standards in line with the Latvian Commercial Law, including board-level responsibilities, record-keeping, and statutory filings.

  • Oversee the entity’s outsourced technology and operational arrangements, ensuring appropriate controls and oversight are in place where services are delivered by other group entities.

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on Latvian and EU regulatory matters to support the company’s growth, licensing strategy, and expansion into new regulated jurisdictions.

  • Monitor and advise on developments in MiCA, DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), and other relevant EU regulatory frameworks, providing timely updates and recommendations to senior management.

  • Be locally accessible in Riga for Central Bank of Latvia supervisory visits and regulatory meetings as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Payments and/or crypto-asset industry experience essential.

  • Experience managing or serving as a senior officer of a company regulated under one or more of MiFID II, MiCA, or PSD2.

  • Clean criminal record with no convictions relating to ML/TF or other financial crime; no adverse regulatory findings or enforcement actions; no inclusion on financial sanctions lists.

  • Knowledge of prudential requirements, capital adequacy, internal controls, and risk management.

  • Knowledge of Latvian corporate governance requirements (Commercial Law) and the Latvian AML/CFTP Law.
