Unto Labs is a team of low-level engineers pushing distributed systems to the physical limits of modern hardware. We’re building the next generation of Layer 1 blockchain technology, from core consensus primitives to performance-tuned networking stacks on commodity servers.
We’re seeking a Community Lead to grow and engage our developer and user ecosystem. You will develop and execute community strategies, manage channels like Discord, Telegram, and X, and serve as the bridge between our technical teams and the wider blockchain community. This is a high-impact role at a fast-paced startup, ideal for someone who loves DeFi, developer tooling, and the open source ethos.
Community Strategy and Growth
Define and implement programs to attract developers, node operators, and end users
Set community growth targets and measure against key metrics
Channel Management
Oversee day-to-day engagement on Discord, Telegram, X and relevant forums
Moderate discussions, answer questions, and foster a welcoming environment
Content & Events
Coordinate AMAs, hackathons, office hours, and meetups to showcase our tech
Collaborate with marketing to produce tutorials, blog posts, and social assets that explain consensus, cryptography, and performance optimizations
Feedback & Advocacy
Collect community feedback and insights to inform product roadmaps
Champion community needs internally and help shape our developer experience
Partnerships & Ambassadors
Identify and onboard community advocates and ecosystem partners
Forge relationships with other projects, infrastructure providers, and others in the industry
Must-Haves
3–6 years of community management experience in the technology, blockchain, and/or open source industries
Deep understanding of Layer 1 blockchain concepts, consensus mechanisms, and cryptography
Proven track record growing active, engaged communities on Discord, Telegram, or similar platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex technical topics into clear guidance
Self-motivated and adaptable, with a bias for action and strong ownership mentality
Nice-to-Haves
Experience hosting online and IRL events (hackathons, meetups, webinars)
Existing network in DeFi, validator, or node-op communities
Familiarity with performance optimization, benchmarking, or systems engineering
Pioneering Technology: Help shape a Layer 1 blockchain designed for millions of transactions per second
