About the Ethereum Foundation and EFI
The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Ethereum and related technologies. Our mission is to do what is best for Ethereum’s long-term success. Our role is to allocate resources to critical projects, to be a valued voice within the Ethereum ecosystem, and to advocate for Ethereum to the outside world.
The Ecosystem Funding Initiative (EFI) is a team within the EF that coordinates and enables collaborative funding efforts for the Ethereum ecosystem, with a focus on:
– Domains needing traction
– Areas without existing funding sources
– Urgent funding needs
EFI’s mission centers around reducing ecosystem reliance solely on the EF for public goods funding by bringing ecosystem stakeholders to the table and coordinating shared funding initiatives.
Examples of EFI’s recent contributions include supporting the fundraising efforts for ecosystem organizations such as powdr and the DRC, as well as coordinating the collaborative ecosystem funding efforts of initiatives like the Pectra audit competition, the Ethereum Protocol Attackathon, and the ZK grants round.
Your Mission
As a Collaborative Funding Coordinator, it will be your responsibility to secure funding for and facilitate grants rounds and other funding initiatives for the wider Ethereum public goods ecosystem. You will work closely both with other EF internal teams that require help with a specific initiative, and with external teams and projects in the Ethereum ecosystem. You will scout the ecosystem landscape for opportunities and build up all necessary relationships and infrastructure to coordinate the funding efforts.
