Chief of Staff

Inference.net is seeking a dynamic and proactive Chief of Staff to join our team. This role will serve as a strategic and operational partner to our leadership team, Sam Heutmaker, Co-Founder & CEO and Abe Ahmed, Co-Founder & CTO. Both Sam and Abe are highly technical, multiple-time startup founders with deep engineering expertise.

The role will have massive exposure to leadership and the company’s daily operational functions, driving growth and success by managing critical priorities, streamlining operations, and leading strategic growth initiatives. Key responsibilities include sales, marketing, hiring, legal, project management, administration and operations. Upcoming special projects will center around an upcoming token launch. Finally, the Chief of Staff will have a dedicated 24 month accelerated growth plan to become a future leader at the company. The ideal candidate will be a creative, highly organized, strategic thinker who excels at learning new skills and driving results in a fast-paced environment.

We are building a cutting-edge, real-time marketplace for AI inference that matches spare GPU capacity inside data centers with demand from developers building AI-powered applications. We currently operate the world’s largest distributed GPU cluster, with over 5,000 GPUs, 100s of individual operators, and millions of gigabytes of VRAM connected to the network at any given moment.

About the Role

As Chief of Staff, you will be the right-hand to our CEO. You’ll serve as a force multiplier for our leadership team, enabling them to spend more time on their highest and best work while you ensure smooth execution across the organization. Your time will be approximately allocated as follows: 40% to supporting Sam, 40% to running Inference projects and 20% to supporting Abe.

Key Responsibilities

• CEO’s right hand – Maintain full access to calendar, shadow critical meetings, and lead business and product deliverables

• Operations– Manage meetings, prepare agendas, and track progress against strategic goals using robust project management systems

• Legal– Streamline legal review workflows for efficiency

• Hiring – Improve recruitment workflows and candidate experience

• Marketing – Create content and increase exposure to Inference products in the market

• Sales – Drive fundraising support, product launches, and strategic partnerships

• Special Events– Execute hackathons, office launch parties, and team gatherings

• Business intelligence – Collect, synthesize, and present critical data to leadership for decision-making

• External Relationship Management – Oversee investor communications and supply-side partnerships

• Culture Development – Support company values and culture initiatives as we scale

• Virtual Assistant Oversight – Delegate tasks and mentor remote assistant

What We’re Looking For

• 4-10 years of experience in fast-paced environments, with previous startup, business operations, and GTM experience strongly preferred

• Domain experience in AI, crypto, devtools and/or SaaS strongly preferred

• Ex-founder (or aspiring founder), ex-consultant and ex-manager of a small team a plus

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and adapt quickly to changing priorities

• Exceptional analytical skills

• Strategic thinking capabilities with ability to anticipate challenges and identify opportunities

• High degree of discretion and exceptional judgment

• Ability to learn new skills quickly

Travel

Up to one business trip per month as needed.

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation, equity in a high-growth startup, and comprehensive benefits. The base salary range for this role is $120,000 – $180,000, plus equity and benefits, depending on experience.
